2. I'm sure the only reason Shrub visited
was because he had to go to Bethesda to get a checkup himself, and because Rove thought the photos would look good posted next to lies about how Bush supports the troops.

15. Nope, supposedly it was the other way around. And quite a snub
to Bethesda, the traditional Presidential hospital, as this is Walter Reed.

4. I'm sure the Secret Service vetted him
I'm sure they made sure that the only soldiers visited were hawkish Republicans who adore Bush and yearn for ever more war. Can't have any embarassing moments there.

8. I wonder if that's the same soldier . . .
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/12/18/...ain589380.shtml

"A disabled soldier will never see combat again, but he might find himself fighting a new fight against the government's medical bureaucracy.

Lieutenant John Fernandez, who lost part of both legs in Iraq, knows he can no longer be a soldier, but he's not ready to leave the army.

"I personally don't think it's right to be forced out of the — the military and all of a sudden be forced to live on half of the pay that I was getting," he says.

Ryan Kelley, who lost his left leg below the knee, makes about $20,000 a year as a staff sergeant. Once he leaves the army, he will receive about $8,000 a year in benefits."

9. AWOL has a bum knee ...
which is the only reason he is at that hospital.

The young man pictured had a leg blown off because of AWOLs greedy oil war, which is the only reason he is at that hospital.

Truly shameful. I am embarrassed for America.

Cheers
Drifter

14. Some compassionate president!
I have a few problems with the way he is handling the dead and injured soldiers.

1. For all of those who have lost their lives, have he made any attempt to contact at least one family? Or, attend one funeral?

2. The only reason he visited those soldiers yesterday was because he had an MRI on his knee. Now, would he have gone over to the hospital if he had not have to have his knee checked?

3. Finally, what is being done about those soldiers that were injured in the midst of battle, receive medical attention, only to arrive home and have bill waiting for them?
