A thought about banning trolls

I was thinking...When trolls are banned, they'll either just go make a new username, or not...but the point is that they'll KNOW they've been banned.

Why not just, if someone is a troll and has been alerted, etc...have their posts basically be on automatic and irreversable 'ignore' for everyone else. Sure they'd still be able to tell they're being ignored if they log in as a second user, but it won't be as easy to see...Then they post, and just think that nobody is responding to them at all...yet in reality nobody else will see that post.

I came to this idea thinking about how some days everythign I post gets responses, and some days nothing does...just depends on how witty I am, and what the conversation du jour is....but what if trolls didn't know they were banned, and just didn't get any responses anymore....but didn't know they were banned....heck some might even still donate money. ;)

Just a thought.
