Woohoo! I just received an extra $4000 in financial aid!!
And it's a GRANT!! Free money!! :bounce:

The "National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant" (AKA SMART). :eyes: Yeah, it's another stupid acronym, but who cares? That's another four grand I don't have to pay!! Celebrate with me!! :bounce: :party:

8. Hmmmm... if you'd told me that when I was a financial aid director,
I'd have had to turn you into the Dept. of Education Inspector General's Office. :P Good thing I switched jobs in October. :rofl:

9. Congrats! Just remember what the poor schmucks who
awarded that money had to go through, though. :P The regs and guidance (or lack thereof) for those new grants are appalling. Schools were scrambling to make awards at the last minute because the fuckers at the Dept. of Ed never issued guidance on how to award the grants properly. I'm betting you just found out about it because of that.

I spent 20 years in student financial aid (7 as a director), and I'm glad I left in October! :yoiks:
