Ever notice how some people only say "Hi" in elevators?
Or when you pass them, alone, in an empty hallway, or when only the 2 of you are in the restroom? But, otherwise, they might not even acknowledge your existence?

What a strange phenomenon this is.

1. Most people say hello to me if I make eye contact...
But if I want to avoid speaking with others, I'll keep my eyes lowered when I pass. Just depends on my mood...

2. elevators are like urinals--it's impolite to acknowledge the presence
of your temporary neighbor.
