Canada photos, part 4: Bowen Island
One very hot day yvr girl and I caught the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen Island.

This is not Bowen Island. It was taken from Bowen Island:

Some more pictures of the sea. There seems to be quite an archipelago here:

yvr and I rested for a couple of hours by this very picturesque lake. She kicked my ass at othello. I played so slow that she actually fell asleep waiting for her turn. I was quite pleased with how this picture turned out:

Sunlight playing in the branches:

My excursions into Canada have been to Toronto only...that's where my boyfriend lives (LDR). Toronto is a great city, but it's only one city in Canada.

Your pictures remind me that I'd love to visit the rest of Canada...specifically British Columbia. It looks so beautiful.

I'm glad you and yvr girl had a great time. :-)

30. BC gorgeous. Nova Scotia pretty cool too. Actually - everywhere
is great. You should all get a camper and travel across the whole country.

It's just a short ferry ride from Vancouver too... making it ultra convenient.

7. Oh, those are really beautiful!
I love the reflection of the sun on water. Those brought back the feeling I'd have when I was on the water up there (I used to live in the Pacific Northwest). I miss it so much this time of the year. Thank you for posting these! The reflection one is superb, too.

Do you mind me asking what kind of camera you have?
I'm looking for a new one.

Thanks! :loveya:

I have a Canon IXUS-40. Not the most features, but small and cute, and it seems to take reasonable pictures. :)

9. I think I remember a stopover on Bowen as we headed to
Pender Island, as kids. That, or we went to Bowen as an excursion from Pender. On the rocks and in the tidal pools there were always amazing numbers of different kinds of sea creatures: sea cucumbers, plain starfish, giant starfish, sea bats, brittle stars, lobster, small fish, sea anemones of all sizes and colors, and tons of shellfish. It was like paradise.

These are wonderful! I love love love British Columbia!

The feeling of the water and the shoreline....fabulous!

The first pic that shows the island.......the way the water just comes up without any beach........I don't know why, but that is gorgeous to me!

Thank you for sharing all this beauty with us!
