Good morning, everyone!
What? No morning crew thread?

It rained like crazy last night and kept me awake with all the thunder. Harleydad can't come home tonight as planned -- has to stay another week. x(

Someone's morning has to be starting out a little better than this. C'mon over and tell me what's cooking with you today! :grouphug:

I don't know either what the matter is. It is either the weather or just the horrible situation in the world that pulled us down. Going over and reading in GD or GDP surely makes one depressive.

I remembered what it was about that place that was so frustrating. It's not the flame wars. It's the fact that so many people there are so STUPID.

:wtf:

20. We do that.
We have unlimited minutes to call each other on our cell phones. Only thing is that our cell phones suck, so they drop calls right in the middle of a sentence. It's very frustrating. x(

He had a little "excitement" on the way home from work yesterday which actually made me glad he's not traveling today. A picture of a tire came up on the dashboard with some arrows somewhere on it. So he pulled over and found that he had a flat tire -- ran over a wire. The car told him before it got very flat and before any damage to the rim happened. He changed the tire knows how to fix it, but I'd rather he drive a few local miles on the repair before he starts out on a long trip. But that doesn't mean I'm happy about him staying away for an extra week.

A lot of people here know about being alone. I shouldn't complain.

18. I'm a NYC commuter,
So no driving for me.

I get to sit for half an hour on the Staten Island Ferry, then walk a ways, then take two different trains, then walk some more.

If I'm awake enough, I'll get a lot of reading done. :)

35. Yeah me too!
One time I went to the Mall, actually had a real goal in mind, walked in, started to walk down the mail aisle, and decided that I just didn't want to be there. I truly hate shopping so I left and shopped on-line! Unfortunately can't buy shoes on-line, otherwise I'd do that too!

Bought shoes online, that is. Many times. Guess i've been lucky with it. But there are so many warehouse shoe stores around now, so I'll shop there for shoes.

I do most of my shopping online these days. My UPS and FedEx drivers get to know me pretty quickly.

41. Well ...

I am happy that I'm here. I managed to develop a blister on the bottom of my foot on yesterday's morning walk x( so my hips are yelling at me about the lack of exercise today. I plan to stay in and let my foot heal perhaps I'll go for a swim later to make up for it.

I had a long long talk with him last night about things which were bothering both of us. I was so depressed that the talk couldn't be put off until I move down in November. As it usually goes with men, he was clueless about the depth of my feelings for him because I have loved and missed him for most of my life. His Hepatitis C is sapping his strength and we are taking a break from each other tonight so he can be in better shape for our date tomorrow night. I believe we have made a lot of progress toward being together.

He was shocked when he heard me say that I would throughly kick the ass of the woman he cheated on me with if I ever see her again (btw ~ that's not likely to happen). She was our friend. He said "But it was only sex! There was no emotional attachment." :grr: His statement gave me the perfect opening to talk about his double standard.

Sounds very frustrating. But you're definitely headed in the right direction. He'll come around.

Double standard? You mean, it's OK for the gander, but not for the goose? :wow:

I guess his attitude came from his French background compounded by his lifestyle. Sometimes the best thing is to open up all of the old wounds and throughly clean them out so they can reheal with a minimal scar.

48. Having the old baggage hanging over our heads is more uncomfortable.

BTW He isn't blaring the TV or radio at full volume any longer now that he knows I'm not going to yell at him.

It was his little comment while we were visiting Borders on Wednesday night that was the reason I decided to open the discussion. I could tell that he was uncomfortable and so was I. Now we don't need to discuss any of it again. :)

On our first date he cooked supper for us and he was surprised to hear me say that I have thought about him every time I've eaten mussels since then.
