1. I Started This Poll
because I think our health care really needs an overhaul for EVERYONE. So many people are paying for coverage but not getting it and people who have no coverage have been left to fall between the cracks and fend for themselves. I just want an honest forum about our health care in the United States and see what we can do to improve it. Thank you all for being a part of the poll. If I left out something please include it on your comments. Have a good night. ;)

2. Right now I don't have any and it's really tough to find care.
When I had coverage, I could find care but, between the premiums and the copays and the deductibles, it was STILL ridiculously expensive.

3. It Really Is
My Husband and I pay $450.00 a month for a family health care package that has become an HMO. We have a premium for prescriptions and we have a premium for our doctors. Its mind blowing. I hope you can find some quality care when you need it. We really need some reform. My best thoughts are with you.

6. I have catastrophic coverage
because it was all I could afford. So, if I get in a major car accident or something I'll be okay, but if I just need to visit a doctor because I'm sick then I'm screwed.

7. Mine is excellent, but my SO doesn't have any
His union (Equity) increased the number of weeks he has to work each year (in Equity productions) to get coverage, and he rarely meets the minimum.

8. I have been extremely fortunate in my choice of employers.
Working for colleges and universities for the past 20 years, I have had excellent health care and relatively low costs associated with it. They have paid all or most of my individual premium. The expensive part is adding my husband to the coverage---he's self-employed, and his health care choices were very expensive otherwise. It's less expensive through my employer. My current employer, a bank, also has great healthcare coverage, but in the nine months I've been employed there, premiums have gone up twice and are about to go up again. Our regular doctor participates in both the insurance I had before switching jobs and the insurance I have now. :) Our copays are about average; considering what I could be paying otherwise, I'm not going to complain about them.

The health care system (or lack of it) in the US sucks in general. :(

10. Health care coverage is the only reason I am still working.
Believe me, I would retire yesterday if I had some other option.

12. Ours is pretty good except
it's a PPO and there don't seem to be any OB/GYNs on the plan in my town! I have to drive about 25 miles to find one. The medical clinics on the plan all treat people like cattle and the wait in the waiting room is always at least 45 minutes. So maybe it's the care I am not as happy with rather than the insurance. But....they decide who's going to be on their plan as primary providers and their choices suck. The insurance itself covers most things and our company pays for it all, they don't deduct anything from our paychecks for it, so that's cool.
