I don't call her on Sundays.

13. I never used to, really, but started in my 30's.
I say it to my dad too, but he never has or does back. Not manly, I guess, to love your family out loud.

7. Fuck that.
My mom made my life a living hell for 13 years after my dad died, trapping me under her thumb. I could NOT get independent of her and live my own life. I wanted to travel, experience life, and see the world.

Now, good luck going anywhere Americans aren't despised, and I can barely walk.

I can barely be civil to her when she calls now.

24. OMG!! I freaking MISSED you!
Not only that, I hear you. Only trash would disregard her own daughter. You're something very special, and it's the attitude & life you created for yourself despite the TOTALLY SUCKY AND USELESS influence of your mother.

I swear, FSC- :loveya: How are you doing now? I hate it that you can barely walk, honey. Are you getting it treated? Is it helping?

in my dreams, too. I know it's her, it's a very different feel to the dream then when I'm dreaming about her. Last fall was the last time she came to me. I hope I'm due for another visit soon.

I'm glad she keeps in contact with you, in the way that she can. For me, it feels wonderful when I get one of those special visits. :loveya:

Whenever I call home and mom answers, she says "I'll go get dad" once she finds out it is me. Then after five minutes she acts like an operator, telling him to get off the phone every three minutes. "and the operator says forty cents more, for the next, three, minutes ..."

44. I would if she were still with us
It was officially 10 years in July.

I do miss her a lot, even now. It was hard this past weekend because my sister and I went to Shelby, NC. Her best friend died on Thursday. :-( Her kids were also our extended siblings and us theirs. So we all lost both our mothers.

I just remember how much fun we had. :-) And hope to one day have that in my life.

49. Mine was a vicious, self-centered creep.
I stopped living with her when I was 15. As as there wasn't any money in it for her, she never tried to contact me once, which solidified my opinion of her. Twenty-some years later, she was dying of cancer after spending every day of her adult life under a cloud of hairspray, marked "inflamable" on the can. I refused a made-for-tv deathbed reunion. Good riddance.

Sorry for the spew.
