The most offensive sign/bumper sticker you have ever seen?
Edited on Sun Jul-30-06 01:08 PM by bertha katzenengel
Post a photo if you have it. Here's mine, which was actually on a bumper sticker from the early 80s in Southern California. Garden Grove, CA, along with Westminster, has a very large Vietnamese population. It's Orange County's Little Saigon:

1. It's not really a sign but...
there used to be a guy that drove around town waving two full-size confederate flags on poles from his pick up truck. I mean, this is fucking NJ! Northern NJ...upper-middle class suburbia land! It was very, very weird. The only weird thing we want to see driving around on the roof of something in a menorah when the Hannukah car drives around with playing it's hip Jewish music. We kind of like the menorah mobile. Sure, that rabbi's a little whacky, but he's the good kind of whacky. No giant confederate flags belong up here.

2. Bee-Zarre.
I guess equally bizarre -- not to mention suicidal -- would be to do the same thing w/ rainbow flags down in Mississippi.

There's a truck that drives around DC proclaiming doom for homosexuals, "abortionists," and most especially members of Congress who "support" such deviants. :eyes:

5. A MENORAH-MOBILE?
I waaaaaaant one.

Also, could you point me in the direction of some of this "hip Jewish music?" Unless you mean Joey Ramone, the Beastie Boys or Yo La Tengo, I'm kinda scratchin' my head on that one.

7. I was actually being sarcastic about the "hip" part but...
there is a Hasidic Reggae guy out there who's pretty good. I forget his name though. Just look up Hasidic Reggae. There can't be too many of them out there.

8. Oh yeah, Matisyahu. He ain't bad.
Veering way off-topic, I find it amusing that a devout Lubavich Jew is embraced by indie-kiddies (many of whom otherwise loathe reggae unless it's dub co-opted by white Englishmen), while even mildly Christian indie-rock is still viewed with intense suspicion.

OK, end of observation, thread may resume with no further interference from me.

9. Those people who stand outside of concerts and ball games
that hold signs saying things like "You'll burn in hell" or one that has all the "sins" that if committed unless you repent will spend eternity in hell's fire. Man, do they piss me off.

tons of bumperstickers, many of them obviously homemade (and quite crudely, I might add). They show graphic pictures, and the slogans are so hateful that it makes me sick. It's usually Mommy and Daddy and their eight kids in the van too. :( The worst one says, "You Will Rot In Hell If You Murder An Innocent Child". It's right next to the, "Abortion Doctors Must Go!" sticker.

They might be interested to know that I exercised my right of choice exactly seven years ago tomorrow and do not regret it for a moment. I'd fight to the death to protect choice in this country and around the world. :hi:

13. Most offensive bumper sticker to me...

The people that display this one on their cars are proud of the fact that * stole the Presidential election again and that he was given four more years to destroy our country and to wreak havoc around the world. And that's about the most offensive thing I can think of.
