1. be careful. DO NOT hurt yourself
maybe someone could divide the milk up into smaller containers for you. You'll probably have some physio-therapy to help get the strength back (?) In the mean time, take care and don't push it.

9. uh-huh
Come on, were you riding a bike or something? You breaking it in 3 places must be pretty bad. I hope you have good pain meds.
Two people I know broke theirs last year. One riding a bike and hitting a hole in a sidewalk and another fell off of a chair. I know they are very painful and I feel sorry for you. I hope you heal quickly

Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 01:13 AM by mark414
i was out traveling for the last 6 months, hitchhiking and hopping trains

i was on one train and had to get on the one that was on the next track over - i threw my bag off before realizing it was going too fast for comfort, and that bag was everything i owned in the world, so i jumped off so i wouldn't lose it...

and yes, i first had percocets and now i'm on vicodin so the pain management has been very easy...

PS thanks for the well wishes

12. I saw someone fall fom a moving train once
flat on her face. The conductor told her not to; she did anyway. Yeah, it throws off your balance or something... that horizontal motion. I am so sorry

3. Oh man I know how painful that must be
They say a collar bone is the most painful bone for an adult to break.

7. it's been surprisingly not that bad
even when it happened i didn't realize it until i started rubbing my shoulder, and then i could feel the bone...but i'm guessing that's because i had so much adrenaline rushing through my body at the time (i had just jumped off a moving freight train)

otherwise, in the emergency room on the day of, they stuck a neck brace on me and that was unbearable, and the 2 or 3 days after the surgery were pretty rough, but i have been on a steady supply of percocet and vicodin throughout the process so...it could be worse :)

4. Maybe you're lactose intolerant?
My winces are with you (collarbone's one of the few I haven't broken, but my brother broke his when we were playing once and reported that it was exceedingly painful, as I've heard is usually the case) and so is my hope that you won't try any more macho showing-off along the lines of lifting eight pounds or so of dairy product. The strength will come back, so just take it slow and easy and build up to eventually powerlifting cow juice. If there's a bright side to your sort of injury, it's that it really brings home the biomechanical interdependence of the structures that let us move and do things, things we so take for granted when we're unbroken.

Heal!

8. Don't you mean "Freedom Gallons"?
Or is the US no longer at war with France? I can't keep up with who we hate this week (except for Michael Bolton, of course).
