When will the FREAKING BLUEBIRD of Happiness STOP
Crapping on my head?

Ready for more? I'm not and I wish this run of bad luck would just freaking stop...

Get this - I go out this morning around 5 a.m. to put the trash out before I go to work. I see the interior light on in my car. So I'm kicking myself for not checking to make sure I closed the car door last night - and I hope the battery is ok.

The drivers door is closed. But the passenger door isn't. I didn't have anyone in my car yesterday so no one would have accidently left it open. I look in the car - my glove compartment is open, the little console catch-all box is open and stuff is strewn around on the seats.

My partner's truck was also rifled through - glove compartment etc.

Called the cops and reported it. Also called the neighbors to tell them to check their cars because it felt like someone was looking to rip things off (like cell phones, I-Pods, and other things people leave in their cars.

On the bright side - nothing was stolen and no damage was done.

now before I get jumped on for not locking my car door - we live in a very small, rural town (more cows than people) our usual worry is having a bear raid birdfeeders or bumping into a skunk while taking the dog out at night, not some jerk checking out our cars.

A neighbor did say her son's car was similarly "inspected" and that another neighbor had it happen to him a week or so ago.

all I can say is :

1. Damn it, rad.
That's terrible. Has this pilferer broken any car windows? You might be lucky that you didn't leave your car locked. Might have had a bloken window instead.

2. no damage
to the cars

It seems this could be a regular route for the jerk, as someone on our road had the same thing happen a week or so ago.

6. you said it
I'm hoping this ride is over.

I feel like I'm on a ferris wheel going at full speed and the operator left for his lunch break.
(I hate ferris wheels)

7. I know someone who hates ferris wheels worse than you and I.
That person is a girl named Dana, who was standing below the ferris wheel at Mohawk Park in Tulsa, when I was in sixth-grade, and took my first ferris wheel ride after having a big sack of popcorn and a large Coke. I bet she doesn't like popcorn anymore, either.

8. funny about ferris wheels
My first ride was when I was 5-6 years old. I didn't want to go on it, my mother made me go on it with her.

Don't know why I was afraid at that time. Just was. I've been on one occassionally over the years, still hate them.

but I love roller coasters... go figure?

10. getting sick on rides
I never use to get sick on rides. I could stuff myself silly on hotdogs, cotton candy, sodas etc and go on any ride with no problem...

now that I'm older - If I go on any rides I have to do so on an empty stomach.
My rule for amusement parks: Ride first, eat later

Same goes for riding in a car on windy hills. When we were in CA earlier, we went from Morro Bay to Monteray on the PCH -- by the time we were almost off the PCH I was getting sick. Thankfully, we took a different route back to Morro bay
