Darts. They're showing darts on ESPN.
The asshat that announces the score after each thrower's turn seriously sucks. A lot.

Fucking darts. On TV.

*shakes head*

p.s. nothing against darts, per se, but on TV?

3. It's like 1980 all over again!
When ESPN was new. They would show any kind of mundane activity.

I love darts, but it doesn't belong on TV any more than poker, which I also love, but would rather PLAY, than watch! x(

So there were good things about the early ESPN. :D

Yeah, whatever happened to Australian Rules Football? It was all about the striped socks. :D

8. Goal for Geelong!!!
I believe it is broadcast by one of Rupert Murdoch's vast array of sports networks. I catch a game every now and then on Fox Sports Net. I think during the time I was not employed, there was one game a week.

Hideous uniforms. Gawd awful! :D

Oh, they changed the referee uniforms, too. No white suits with the funny hats. x(

15. It's a 135-mile race run across Death Valley then 13 miles up
Mt. Whitney to the Whitney trailhead. The average temp has been about 125 this year. Jurek won it in a little under 26 hours. MOst people are still out there -- they have 60 hours to run it.

Thanks for your outrage!

17. My point exactly!
They run on the white line of the highway, because their shoes can melt if they run on the black... some wear these all-over bio-hazard-like suits... the elevation change is killer. On eof the places they run up -- Towne Pass, is used by car manufacturers all over the world to test their cars for overheating... crazy!

I actually have friends who have run it....

Western States is a little easier -- 100 miles, from Squaw Valley over Squaw Peak, down through the canyons. A friend finished that in less than 24 hours this year. The average temp was about 100 *but it's a dry heat).

You win a belt buckle if you finish these races..

God, I love ultrarunning!

directly into the forehead of Marco.

19. That's obscene.
Darts should be enjoyed in person with friends and beer, and by "enjoy" I mean "play it yourself."

The very notion of watching people throw darts on TV is an abomination, even if you drink beer while doing so.

37. Worst time of year for sports.
No NFL, college football, college hoops, NBA, hockey, collegiate sports. The dead zone. And there is only so much baseball one can watch. Especially if you are a (gulp) Kansas City Royals fan. Have to get creative with programming. It'll be cranked up in a few short weeks.

26. It could be worse.
Once ESPN had on the Madden football tournament. Yep, a bunch of wannabe football players playing video game football on national television. The one guy said he achieved his lifedream, which was apparently to play video games on national television while sitting in a Times Square bar.

Poker on TV I understand a bit more. At least people who play poker can learn how to play better.

Ah well...whatever flips the ol' switch I suppose.
