He appears to have gone AWoL...

I'm sure that we'll forgive him, because he's bound to have a good excuse.

Anyway, good morning everybody. :hi:

Hope that your days are all as bright and sun-filled as mine is. :D

I hope that is the problem ... although you are certainly right about how frustrated he probably is. :(

I'm fine, thanks, and I'm glad you started this thread. I hate being alone in the mornings. :grouphug: And it's a beautiful morning here. :bounce:

Got any big plans?

6. Glad you've got a good day.
Looks like both of our countries are having heat-waves - according to this morning's paper tomorrow we might break the hottest-day record.

This evening I'm into London to today's Proms concert - it's a semi-staged production of Cosi fan Tutti by Mozart...so I'm very happy about that. :bounce:

Are you up to anything fun?

8. It's warm here ... going to be 91.
But not humid like it was in FL, so it's actually quite comfortable unless you're running around in the sun. I watched a show about global warning a few nights ago and they talked about how hot it is everywhere. Wish I hadn't been so tired -- ended up sleeping through most of it. x(

Oh, that sounds like a great evening! :bounce: I love Mozart! :loveya:

Nothing fun happening here. Things should pick up next week, though. The builder told me I'll have to go in and start picking out brick colors, etc. :bounce: I'm sure glad to get this ball rolling!

Meanwhile, I might go to one of the outside fruit stands and buy some more Georgia peaches. Have you ever had them? They are THE BEST! I bought a few the other day, just to see if they were any good. Now I wish I'd bought the whole basket.

13. Getting things moving is a great thing...
though it's bound to be the beginning of a long slog as well.

Getting fresh fruit locally is wonderful - I remember when I was young we had a plum tree in the garden, eating them fresh from the tree was gorgeous.

20. Long slog ...
 You've built a house before? Yeah, our last one took longer than planned and it wasn't a custom home. This one is supposed to take 6 months, starting in September. But they're actually starting earlier, so the chance of finishing it by March are a little better than usual. :D I have fifty cents riding on my house getting done before my daughter's.

Eating ANY fruit right from the tree is gorgeous! :bounce: :loveya: My mom has a plum tree -- very yummy! :9 Our neighbors are both giving us fresh veggies from their gardens, too. And one of them gave us meat from his cows. Country living sure is delicious! :9

24. There's a programme over here
which follows people as they build houses - very much fly-on-the-wall style.

It seems that all the presenter ever says is that the schedule has slipped and the costs have risen. There was one episode in which they didn't really have problems, and he seemed almost disappointed that he couldn't given his customary moans.

I find architecture fascinating - part of me would love to build my own house in the country...but then part of my wants an old house too

29. That sounds interesting.
Although I tend to avoid shows like that while I'm going through it.

"he seemed almost disappointed that he couldn't given his customary moans."

I LOVE old houses! We always lived in old houses until we moved to FL. You wouldn't want an old house there because of the hurricanes. The house we're building now is going to be passive solar. That's the ONLY reason we're building instead of buying. You'd think the people around here have never heard of the sun or rising energy costs.

either a bee or a wasp I would say. I didn't see that beast. I was walking through a meadow and suddenly something stung me. It hurt a bit and the foot didn't swell till yesterday evening. Oh well, it will pass. I just don't fit into my beautiful summer shoes at the moment but have to wear Birkenstock shoes.

38. Know what else helps?
Eucalyptus oil. No kidding! I keep it in the medicine cabinet now and it really took the itch and pain out of my mosquito bites. :D

When I saw the price tag on those Birkenstocks, you can imagine how relieved I was that they didn't fit! Harleykid wanted me to get a pair SO badly! But one size was too short and the next size up put the little lumps behind the toes in the wrong place -- they were a little too long. And I sure wasn't going to "make do" for that price.

if you pay a high price for shoes they better fit you perfectly.

I also have Camphophenic at home that helps relieve the itching.
