Big Boss of Hooters Restaurants found dead at his home on Sunday

69 year old Bob Brooks Chairman of Hooters was found dead Sunday. Cause of death not immediately known. Hooters, which started in 83, has 425 restaurants in 43 states.

Hey, you want to see flesh go to a strip club and see it all. If you want to eat go to a restaurant. Hooters has marginal "food" served by fully clothed young women. My mother's favorite restaurant though, she used to ask me like 2 to 5 times a week if I wanted to go to Hooters and look at the "hooters" Um...yeah. it was traumatic. Now she bitches about my dating habits because I'm clearly not interested in settling down. So..it's okay for her to objectify women but not for me to not believe in long-term commitments.

For those of you at home, it think that's Chan 2, Mom 0. (I already won a point for making her admit that she only supports the President because she works for a military subcontractor and not because she thinks he's actually winning the war on "Terror")

I just hate corporate restaurants. I won't go to chains at all, give me a good mom and pop dinner or independent any day of the week. Applebees, ruby tuesdays, chili's, outback steakhouse, T.G.I.F.'s they all suck.
Hooters just sucked more because it was fake food with fake entertainment. No thanks, if I want to look at hooters I will go to a strip club. If I want to eat good food I go to an independent establishment.

The wings were good, but the best I ever had were at a bar in upstate New York. Sorry if I offended anyone, it really wasn't my intention at all. I just like supporting the little guys.

I had to wait tables for about three years back in my late 20's. Now I'm on my own, single and trying to find options so I can re-org my life and jumpstart my career which means taking a job like waitressing so I can go back to college.

Problem with the independant places is you get good tips but absolutely no insurance. I ended up spending three years working at a Houlihan's (another national chain) because after 6 months working there I was eligible for health insurance provided that I maintain an average of 30+ hours per week. It wasn't the best insurance but at least I was covered if something major happened to me.

I also worked at a little shit-ass tavern that had really great italian food

It just seems like the food is so generic at the chains. I didn't realize the chains offered health insurance, maybe their not as evil as I thought????
BTW- Houlihans is my parents favorite resturant, they go once a week.

You can literally get a large bag of about 100 chicken wings at Sam's for about $8.00, then turn around and sell them for $8.00 for a half dozen. I wish I would have also thought of bottled water too but I do confess to being an idiot when it comes to paying as much for water as you do gas.
