Anyone know anything about motor scooters? Ever heard of LongBo?

I've been shopping for a motor scooter and Vespa just seems like too much. Some of the Asian companies are starting to pop up here, including LongBo. Anyone ever heard of them?

6. I've heard Bajaj are pretty good Vespa knockoffs

Indian company, makes oldstyle pseudo Vespas. I ride a motorcycle, but have a buddy who rode an old Vespa until he had a kid--then started talking about getting a Bajaj when he started getting the urge again.

Don't forget that Honda and Kawasaki (I think) make scooters too. The Italian motorcycle maker Aprilia makes scooters under the Scarabeo marque. Don't know much about their scooters, but their bikes are great.

7. Right now, we've got a Yamaha Riva which we have beat to death

and it keeps on kicking. The kids have crashed it into fences, the barn and (once) into my husband's truck, on the farm. It has gone thousands of miles over the most unforgiving terrain (plus the open road) and it keeps on going.

We love the scooters. They don't have as much "bite" as a dirt bike which means the kids don't get too crazy, they are respectable on the road, and they get the most staggering gas mileage.

I don't have any experience with Vespas although they are very sexy. We've only had Yamahas and Hondas - absolutely first rate.

I had a Honda Spree when I was a teenager. Loved it. Those memories and current gas prices are "driving" me to get another one.
