3. i don't understand why some of the threads were against DU rules

and why a couple of the posters got banned over what they did.

i don't mean the later threads calling out the mods. but the original thread on those convicted of looting during Katrina and racism. how was that flamebait ?

of course i could be unaware of the history of the posters and any post issues they might have had.

but i was interested and posted in the looting and racism thread but it got deleted.

i know it has happened many times before . in this case it wasn't even as bad as what some of the others who lost it did. but it always seemed like the mods were understanding of it and just let it go . as long as it didn't continue for days.

there have been far worse things on DU. it just doesn't make sense to me.

5. Those were both longtime posters - definitely not disruptors.

They were pushing back against an overzealous mod, and they got TS'd. I wrote the admins about it, and I hope everyone else who agrees does so. Joad and Raging were good posters.
