I am looking for a link to either a transcript or video of Bush tying OBL to Saddam prior to the Iraq war...I would post this in the gen discussion forums, but y'all are so much quicker here.

8. That's the thing...

He AGREES that OBL doesn't have anything to do with Iraq, but says that Bush never said they were tied together.

His basic argument is that Bush has been upfront throughout his presidency and that he has lived up to his word since his campaign in 1999. It's like he's been in an effin cave for the past 6 years.

9. My mom and my sister's neighbor both believe

in the OBL/Saddam link. Though I know it has been disproved otherwise. I have tried telling them that it has been disproved but they are telling me that I am lying.

It's so sad that most people still believe in this lie.

I think the best way to sway these guys is to go down a different path.

The thing is, a majority believe we should have taken Saddam out, BUT, why didn't we do it like we did Afghanistan. Remove the problem and then leave.

Why didn't we try to do in Afghanistan what we are trying to do in Iraq?

There is no real answer to that question that doesn't highlight that this was about much more than taking out Saddam.
