2. That's exactly what they said on ESPN last night!
I saw this and almost literally fell on the floor laughing.

3. Bet they got paid more than me for saying it!
I agree, it was hilarious. I watched the video at work, and tried hard to laugh quietly.

5. Now THAT was priceless
What is it with baseball and hothead managers?

The Twins have Gardenhire, who is definitely a hothead. But for years we had Tom Kelly, who never had an outburst, and other than the two World Series wins, the Twins were not all that colorful. Now with Gardy getting ejected at least 5 times a season, the Twins have some character!

7. Meh — very little originality
I haven't seen the water-bottle trick before, so I give him points for that, but the rest of it's been done a buncha times. And, yeah — where the hell was the water cooler? It ain't a good rant unless that sucker goes flyin' onto the field.

Earl Weaver once picked up one of the bases and, instead of throwing it, simply refused to give it back. That was original.

But for sheer, all-out ballistics, I don't think anybody'll ever top the one I saw in Salinas of the California League around 1985. This guy with the Modesto A's got called out at first on a close play and went quite literally out of his mind. As four of his teammates held him back from going after the plate umpire, he screamed such stuff as "You're SHIT! You're DEAD! You're a DEAD MAN!"

I got a bunch of photos of it and sold five to the umpire, who used them in his report to the league. The guy was suspended, but he served the suspension with the A's Double-A club in Huntsville, Ala.; the day this happened was his last with Modesto before he got called up.
