Titanic to watch at a mall that had escalators...and I stood the whole way up and down...and then we drove home while Laura Branigan serenaded us from the CD player..man that was a GREAT night! :hi:

***Did I mention the kids came with and I think I may have been breastfeeding my son??

IOW: I'm pretty much open to anything! :)

5. I'm fine with the breastfeeding the kid.
Now, the other stuff, I've got some issues. If people can get by you on the esclator, then it's fine to stand. If there's stairs next to them, then you can take up the whole fucking escalator. Really spread out. No stairs, please stay to the side.

I was just thinking about you. I haven't seen you for a few days, but I haven't been in the Lounge much. Check out my post in the MI forum about the Bernie Sanders event this coming Sunday.

And make sure you vote for Nancy in the DFA poll if you haven't already.

Did you get my PM? I ended up in the pits of Detroit all last week.

Voted...and I'll check out the MI forum! :)

He's doing good; They bumped his surgery back to next Monday, due to a scheduling mess up which is frustrating. He's taking it all in stride, while I go slowly insane.

Thanks for asking.

I sent you one, but never heard back from you. That's strange!

Sorry we didn't get to do lunch. Any idea when you'll be on this side of town? Think about the Bernie Sanders event in Warren on Sunday and let PF know about it. Conyers and Bonior are sponsoring it. I'm definitely going. It would be nice to get a group together.

Glad your dad is doing better.

Hope to talk to you soon.

26. I don't understand that flame war at all.
When I go to NYC, I have no idea where I am. I go for a show and am starving before or after because I've had to take the train in from Hoboken, AFTER driving up from Philly. I have to freaking eat! And everything, EVERYTHING around Broadway is unbelievably expensive. So where do I eat? I eat at Applebee's, TGI Fridays, Olive Garden, anywhere I know I'm not going to pay $40 for an entree, and have no idea if it's even going to be any good! What am I going to do? Hop in a cab and tell the cab driver to take me somewhere, anywhere to get something to eat?

I don't know my way around New York. I don't know how the neighborhoods relate to one another geographically. When I exit the theater, I have no idea if I'm 5 minutes or 50 minutes away from Chinatown or Little Italy. I'm hungry, I've been sitting without food for 3 hours, and I don't want to spend a fortune. I mean, WTF? Have these people never been tourists in a huge city they're not familiar with? Not everybody wants to spend a fortune to try something new that may well suck.

I live in Philly and I think I know 3/4 of the amazing restaurants in this town, but I don't begrudge tourists eating at the McDonald's on South Street (not there anymore, actually) or Pat's or Geno's even though there's better steak places. They don't know where to go! They are lost in a city they're unfamiliar with, they might have kids with them, they need to eat, and they don't want to get ripped off. If they ask me, I happily give a recommendation. Geez, people are judgemental...
