1. 1. No - I read comics on occasion growing up but
I wasn't really into them very much yet I have so far enjoyed most of the big comic based films.

2. So far I think Batman Begins (Batman was perhaps the superhero I followed most closely and this was the best Batman movie)

3. X-Men (but Spiderman is very close)

4. Superman IV

5. Keep trying as far as I'm concerned

6. Justice Legue maybe - like I said I wasn't that into comics as a kid so I'm not sure

7. Christopher Nolan's Batman (Toby did a good job with Spiderman too)

8. Geoge Clooney's protral of Batman

9. Jack N of the Joker

10. Arnold of Iceman

  1. Will you avoid seeing a movie based on a Comic Book even if the review is extremely good? It really depends - never read comics but did watch the saturday morning comics

  2. What has been the very best single movie based on a comic book?Tim Burton's first Batman. He really added the creepiness factor to it. His sequel was also very good. Also love "Dick Tracy" - Warren Beatty made the movie feel just like the comic strip with the use of basic colors and how they brought those bizarre characters to life (Dustin Hoffman ruled as Mumbles and even Madonna was great as Breathless Mahoney)

  3. What has been the very best series of movies based on Comic books (movie with sequels)? Probably the first 3 batman. (the 2 Tim Burton and first Joel Schumacher Batman with Val Kilmer)

  4. What was the very worst movie based on a comic book?Catwoman - the Halle Berry version of the movie just sucked horribly

  5. What Comic Book has been sequelled to death and should be stopped? I think the X-Man should stop at 3 now

  6. What Comic Book would you like to be seen turn into a movie? No opinion

  7. Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book hero in a movie? Probably Michael Keaton's Batman or Christopher Reeves' Superman

  8. Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Hero in a movie? Without a doubt - Halle Berry's Catwoman. Michelle Pfiefer was much better in the Batman movie - she made catwoman sexy without making her sleezy, slutty & stupid - which is what Berry's catwoman came off as

  9. Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book Villian in a movie?Tie between Jack Nickleson's Joker and Al Pacino's Big Boy Caprice from "Dick Tracy" (he got a much deserved oscar nomination for that part)

  10. Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Villian in a movie? WIthout a doubt "Ah-nuld"

5. I forgot about Hellboy - that movie was awesome
And Ron Perlman was Hellboy - he brought the spunk and sarcasm of Hellboy to life. Even Selma Blair was great in that movie as the sullen Liz. I would have never thought of paring up Blair with a little known TV actor like Perlman but those two had major chemistry together.

So any chance of a sequel?

7. You liked Dafoe?
He's the reason I couldn't stand Spiderman although mind you I think Dafoe is a talented actor.

I almost posted Aquaman but then realized that I was posting it because of 'Aquaman' being done in Entourage

Holy Batman I did not know that. I do know that was one fricking amazing role and Viggo Mortesen should have gottens some nominations for that part

But, yeah, Dark Horse put it out. A very good read.

11. I only saw it beause of Viggo - but it was a great movie
although I was slightly taken aback by William Hurt's accent. His accent as a Philly Mobster was horrible but I think he got an Oscar nom for his role.

12. I had sworn not to get involved in any more of these threads... But, since
it's *you* LynneSin. Here goes:

>Will you avoid seeing a movie based on a Comic Book even if the review is extremely good?
No.

>What has been the very best single movie based on a comic book?
Probably, "Batman"... But, I find them hard to separate into classes. Here, I would
say "Tank Girl", but, the movie is not generally well liked. Even by it's own Director.

>What has been the very best series of movies based on Comic books (movie with sequels)?
"Batman" again.

>What was the very worst movie based on a comic book?
"Catwoman" was kind of a stinker. :hide:

>What Comic Book has been sequelled to death and should be stopped?
"Batman"
:yoiks:

>What Comic Book would you like to be seen turn into a movie?
"Green Lantern", I'd also like to see "Tank Girl" remade in it's original intent.

>Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book hero in a movie?
Michael Keaton as Batman.

>Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Hero in a movie?
No opinion. I can't say Halle Berry because she did the best with what
she was given.

>Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book Villain in a movie?
Tommy Lee Jones as "Two-Face" and Uma! Uma! Uma! Thurman as "Poison-ivy".

>Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Villain in a movie?
Well, they've all been pretty good. I'm of the impression it's easier to
portray a villain than a hero. Heroic roles are limited due to expectations
of viewers. I got kind of tired of seeing Gene Hackman as "Lex Luthor" he
didn't carry his evilness far enough.

13. Think Graphic Novels instead of Comic Books...
1) No I look forward to most Graphic Novel Movies
2) X-Men. All movies "distort" the original intent, but X-Men brought back the belief that GNs could be successfully made into movies after the Batman and Robin fiasco.
3) Spiderman (I know it's only 2 with a third in the works.)
4) Batman and Robin over League of Xtraordinary Gentlemen over Daredevil over the Punisher (dolph Lundgren version)
5) Superman
6) Watchmen (but it's impossible) or the Silver Surfer done in a Stanley Kubrik 2001 way...
7) Christian Bale - Batman
8) Ben Affleck - Daredevil
9) Ian McClellan - Magneto
10) Arnold - Mr. Freeze

15. Having been a comic book collector
and I still have the boxes. My answers, IMO, tho' there are so many I haven't read in addition to those I have:

Will you avoid seeing a movie based on a Comic Book even if the review is extremely good? Depends. I was disappointed in Daredevil.

What has been the very best single movie based on a comic book? Spider-Man

What has been the very best series of movies based on Comic books (movie with sequels)? Spider-Man (do you sense a pattern?)

What was the very worst movie based on a comic book? There are so many, but The Punisher starring Dolph Lungren.

What Comic Book has been sequelled to death and should be stopped? X-Men, as much as I loved the comic book series, they need to stop the films.

What Comic Book would you like to be seen turn into a movie? The Badger from 1st Comics, or Usagi Yojimbo from Dark Horse (previously Fantagraphics).

Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book hero in a movie? Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man/Peter Parker

Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Hero in a movie? Dolph Lungren as The Punisher.

Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book Villian in a movie? Still Jack Nicholson as The Joker, tho' Willem DaFoe deserves a mention as The Green Goblin.

Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Villian in a movie? Stephen Dorff as Deacon Frost from Blade. Not convincing; my cat is a better villain.

I'd like to think that the best hasn't happened yet. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :dunce:

18. Am I the only one would couldn't stand Dafoe
I thought he was a poor caricature of a villain where he'd put this helmet on and act bad but then take the helmet off and be tortured about being bad. Perhaps because I'm not a big comic book/graphic book reader, I thought his portrayal was so bad I couldn't even stomach watching the second spider-man.

The two movies I would love to see sequels for - Dick Tracy and Hellboy

16. Here's my list.
Edited on Fri Jun-16-06 10:27 AM by Efilroft Sul
1. Will you avoid seeing a movie based on a comic book even if the review is extremely good?
No. My problem in seeing movies, any movies, right now is a two-year-old son and one more coming in August.

2. What has been the very best single movie based on a comic book?
Traditional: Batman Begins and Spider-Man. Nontraditional: Sin City, Road to Perdition, A History of Violence, Dick Tracy.

3. What has been the very best series of movies based on comic books (movie with sequels)?
Too early to tell. Both Spider-Man movies were good, but I think you need about four or five movies to make an assertion as to what is best.

4. What was the very worst movie based on a comic book?
Lots to choose from! League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Constantine, Superman III and IV, Batman Forever, Batman & Robin top the stinkeroony list.

5. What comic book has been sequelled to death and should be stopped?
I think they should put an immediate stop to sequels for the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and the Hulk.

6. What comic book would you like to be seen turn into a movie?
Mine! I'm currently working with industry vet Lou Manna in pitching our series to a number of publishers. I think our 10-issue series has potential.

7. Who was the very best portrayal of a comic book hero in a movie?
Toby Maguire (sp.?) as Spider-Man.

8. Who was the very worst portrayal of a comic book hero in a movie?
Easy. Ben Affleck as Daredevil.

9. Who was the very best portrayal of a comic book villain in a movie?
Whoever was the Scarecrow in Batman Begins. Awesome, scary stuff.

10. Who was the very worst portrayal of a comic book villain in a movie?
Ah-huld as Mr. Freeze.

# Will you avoid seeing a movie based on a Comic Book even if the review is extremely good? No, not yet...most of the comic book movies, that have come out, I have seen them in the theater, with an exception on a few aka catwoman, elecktra...

# What has been the very best single movie based on a comic book? Superman The Movie

# What has been the very best series of movies based on Comic books (movie with sequels)?Tough choice, you got superman I and II, which are pretty decent, but III and especially IV totally sucked the chrome off a trailer hitch...but Batman fell into the same trap...and so far, Spiderman is doing a decent job I and II were better than average, but I got bias, so i say Superman series, plus Superman Returns comes out soon, and that might make up for the debacle of supes III and IV!

# What was the very worst movie based on a comic book?Batman and Robin, hands down the worst comic book movie I have seen, I avoided Catwoman like the plague, and I didn't watch it...

# What Comic Book has been sequelled to death and should be stopped? None! Even though X-3 was average/subpar, XI and X2, had great potential! If they can get a better director than Ratner, to take the X franchise further, I would be all for it....

# What Comic Book would you like to be seen turn into a movie? Green Lantern, hands down!

# Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book hero in a movie? The late Christopher Reeve

# Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Hero in a movie? George Clooney, Batman and Robin

# Who was the very best portrayal of a Comic Book Villian in a movie? Terrence Stamp, Superman II "Kneel before me, son of Jor-el, kneel before ZOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

# Who was the very worst portrayal of a Comic Book Villian in a movie?its a tie...the whole villian cast in Batman and Robin, from arnold, to the guy who played the rubber Bane outfit...sickening...

"You wrote that the world doesn't need a savior, but everyday I hear people crying for one"-Superman Returns 6/28/06

Howard the Duck. Batman & Robin.

Blade

Sandman - as stop motion animation.

Hugo Weaving

Arnold as Conan.

Michelle Pfeiffer

Arnold as Mr. Freeze

27. I'll bite...
1. No- I still read comics, and I'll see movies based on them.

2. Sin City- amazingly well done.

3. Spiderman- I may be biased for Sam Rami, but both Spiderman movies were great.

4. Constantine- I have a great idea: lets *not* get Sting to play the character based off of him in a movie! Woo!

5. Superman- I'm sorry, but Superman is a dick

6. The Watchmen, if done well and true to the extremely dark comic, would be a great movie. Perhaps a strong R or NC-17, though.

7. Hartigan from Sin City

8. Spawn... yuch.

9. Doctor Octopus- you get this great conflicted-supervillian feeling, watching Doc Oc.

10. The Riddler from Batman. What was with those TV things, anyway?
