1. Yes, and that very special 'cozy'. We have a crew in Houston...
who even had a mention on SNL awhile back. Check out KnittaPlease.

7. Hi, Rev. I can't answer for OR, but the KnittaPlease crew here
are very usual. They primarily hang out in the Montrose area of Houston, so I would say they're probably Democrats and probably already know about DU. Just a guess. I asked to join up with them after reading a great news article cause I sooo wanted to be a subversive knitter, but they politely declined, a tight-knight group so to speak.

8. We have a knitter's group here at one of my churches.
But all they do is make sweaters for needy children all over the world.
You're welcome to come and join them, if you'd like. :)

10. What a wonderful idea your group has, and thanks for the
invitation. I may never make it up to Wisconsin, but maybe I can send something for your group this year.

9. Sorta, I guess
Silliness is democratic, huh?

I got a friend who knits. She showed me the site in the OP to get me over the idea that knitting's all about tea cozys and stuff.

Saw a man's personal ad looking for older women but they had to be "fit, trim, atheletic....NO knitters, please." Hmpfffff
