A question about It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World..

What kind of cars do the protagonists drive?

I know Sylvester drives a '62 Dart, and I think the Crumps are in a '62 Dart Station Wagon. Dingy and Benjy are in a '62 Beetle Cabriolet, Finch drives what I'd like to say is a late 50s vintage Chrysler Imperial (or it could be a '62 Imperial) Pike's truck is a Ford, The Colonel drives a '62 Jeep Utility Wagon, I'm not sure what Phil Silver's character drives, Can anyone helm me out?

2. wow, I'm impressed that you can remember that
that's a fun film, but it's been too long since I saw it and I don't think the cars registered for me at the time. :)

proabably at the drive-in.

my husband and I like the remake? ( the one about another road race for cash), I forget what it was called - with Jon Lovitz, Whoopi Goldberg and Jon Cleese.

8. Late 40's Ford Super-deluxe convertible.
The one with the big goofy fenders, right? Goes floating down the river? Ha!

You know, when that movie first came out it was on a big curvy screen. I don't think they called it I-max back then but it was the same effect. It made the big chase scenes at the beginning and end all the more dramatic. You just don't get the same feel on a TV.
