Sadly, this is the shortest poem I've ever written:
"88"

See nothing but how it
shimmers,
delicately,
through the mind;

Hear nothing but how it
trembles,
passionately,
in the air;

Feel nothing but how it
seizes,
entirely,
my open psyche.

Being as
razor blades, as
rain, as
short quick steps
leading to
leaps!
of soul; and

These broken
words
fight
to
describe this
feeling of
utter transport
to the
actual
world.

I'm more of a "let's see how much we can write today" kind of person. My poems are usually a page long, at least.

I just wrote another, longer poem now--unable to restrain myself again.

6. Uh...sure:
"Northern Star"

I wish I knew:

why my dreams led
me to you, their
fierce advocate,

why my every step
was taken with the hope
of crashing into you,

why I felt made
to run in your golden
gleaming sunlight,

why I wanted nothing
nothing more than
your arms around me,

and why I could never
never say how much
I loved you.

Did you ever,
bodhisattva, know
that you are still
the friend I have worked
so hard for—-

or do your forty years
before I even
entered this world
mean that this veil may never
be drawn away?

I cling forever
to your aftertaste—-I will
never, never be
your equal, able to
take a first bite.

And still I love you,
without abandon.

11. So sad.

I love her like mad--and this is totally platonic love we're talking about. Like how I'd love my own mother.

But the fact that she was once my teacher means that there is a wall between us, a wall I want to tear to pieces with my bare, scrabbling hands.

:cry::cry:

13. I'm sorry
It's hard when that connection happens with "inappropriate" people.

16. Yes, it is.
It's very weird---makes me wonder what kind of person I'd be without her. It seems like a litle part of her lives in my mind, always whispering advice. I hardly even notice my love now--it's so much a part of me, it's crazy.
