I just saw my first (TiVO'ed) episode of "House"-cool show. One question:
What is the source of his problem where he limps and has pain in his leg?

1. He just wants to look cool with a cane.

2. He suffered an infarction in his leg.
The infarction resulted in significant tissue death. Rather than have the leg amputated, House had the dead tissue removed. This is what is keepin him in pain, IIRC. For more details, Pick up season one on DVD and watch the episode "Three Stories"

3. Thanks for the info - I'm a relative "House" newbie as well
but a long time fan of Hugh Laurie (was contemplating spending $129 on the complete "Jeeves & Wooster" yesterday, but put that investment decision off....also loved him in "Black Adder")

4. He's wayyyyy talented
I haven't seen anybody equally at home in comedy or drama in quite a while in the way he is, except maybe Colin Firth.

Also, the leg pain is the source of his Vicodin addiction (He pops pills just about every episode.)

5. I just learned that last night after I picked up the DVD. Sorry I didn't
get into that show sooner, but at least I have something to keep me busy in the TV offseason now. I'm almost embarrassed to say how long it took me to get into West Wing, let's just say I'm working on Season 4 of that.
