Hurricane Update!!!!

To Make a Hurricane:

1 ounce fresh lemon juice
4 ounces dark rum
4 ounces passion fruit syrup
Crushed ice
Orange slice
1 maraschino cherry

In a cocktail shaker, add lemon juice, rum, passion fruit syrup, and crushed ice; shake vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes and then strain into a tall glass or hurricane glass.

Garnish with orange slice and maraschino cherry.

Makes 1 serving.

the front wall of my home is STILL hanging out toward the street from Wilma, the fences that surrounded my backyard are still long gone, and no replacements in sight... hell, I could use a little levity. If we get another big hurricane this year, it's gonna blow away my front wall and probably take me with it.

8. Having lived in New Orleans for several years

I know that the Hurricane is one of the signature items of New Orleans, like Beignets and Jackson Square. So, I would suggest maybe making one of these up and toasting the returnees - I gotta figure more than a few of them are doing likewise.....
