I finally broke down and went to the doctor.

Actually could not get in to see my regular doctor, so I ended up at Urgent Care.

Long story short, although the doctor seems to believe that my sinus pressure is an inflammatory process (which is bunko because I have been snorting steroids for the past week), he did give me an antibiotic. He also gave me samples of an allergy medication. I already am starting to feel better.

Of course, I have been pretty injury prone. I have several bottles of 1/4 used opium derivatives. I only took them when I really needed them.

The pressure systems have been up, then they've been down.

I know when a storm is coming by the way my nose drips 12 hours in advance of the storm!

8. I have had a sinus headache for about a week

getting gradually worse. Started my steroid nasal spray...no relief, got pseudoephedrine and guaifenesin...no relief.

Since I have immune compromise issues, I figured it must be an infection (and it is, since I am starting to feel better with the antibiotics).

Seriously, though, antibiotics have always helped me when is comes to sinus infections. Hope you get better.

see with you doc if she/he thinks that astelin (astelin.com) nasal spray might help you (simliar to claritin - but in a spray form)

it made a world of difference for me, i use it with in comb w/nasal ster - it works pretty well, i've been infection free since feb withic is my personal record. i used to get 1/month (infection) beofore starting this regimen.

11. Irrigation with those OTC bottles of saline solution has helped a lot

of my sinus-infection prone family members avoid getting them. Just thought I'd pass that along in case you've never tried it and think it could work for you.

12. I have done that, and done the warm compress thing - with very little

success.

Like I said before, I am immunocompromised, so it takes nothing for me to get infections.

My sinusitis ended up being an abcessed tooth, antibiotics and a root canal have me perky again.
