1. That's the reason I came on tonight
I have no frikken clue what the hell is going on. Who is Desmond's girlfriend? How do the Others know how to get off the island yet they do not? I am really confused.

It's gonna be a long, long wait until the fall.

4. Spoilers couldn't spoil a show nobody understands.
This is worse than the last year of X-Files... a great series whose story line got so complicated that it wasn't worth the effort to try to understand the big picture...

7. Oh, lighten up.
I'm an addict to LOST... I admit it. Just because a show has a convoluted plot doesn't mean it can't be good.

he knew EXACTLY what was happening when the noise and light hit. He actually looked a little happy, in my opinion.

I heard someone say this morning on another board that the barefooted others at the end of the episode only had four toes! :o

9. Here's My Thoughts
That island contains some sort of massive electromagnetic field that's strong enough to bring down a plane and heal the sick. It contains other magical powers.

Desmond's ex-girlfriend is searching the globe for this field, and those two guys in the Artic work for her.

Walt and Michael are sailing into a trap.

The others were either a part of an experiment that went wrong or part of the Dharma institute.

The plotting is getting a little convuluted, but I blame Michelle Rodriguez's DUI for this. I think that they had to do a radical re-write to get around her character. The same for the actress that played Libby.

10. Good thoughts...
I'm very intrigued by Charlie's silence at the end. Why isn't he looking for Locke and Eko, and are we to assume they are dead? I don't quite think so. There's a myriad of questions this episode brings up, but I agree on why it may feel convoluted. The magnetic field ... is that what healed Locke after the crash?

12. I think I agree
... Locke especially; he's too strong a personality and foil to the doc (scientist/realist). In some ways, though, Locke's worldview (about destiny) has been shaken (even literally).

13. I get the feeling that season 3
is going to be an eko, locke, sayid lovefest, since, initially, they won't be overshadowed by sawyer, kate, and jack. I don't think I can make it without jack the man leading the group, though.

34. WHEW! Lots happened
Okay

Sayid told Jack that Micahel was compromised so they worked out a plan where Sayid would meet them on the beach and take out the Others. The Japanese couple (he is from a fishing village) sailed him around the island and on the way they saw a GIANT foot of a statue but with only 4 toes. Meanwhile Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, and Michael (according to Others list) were walking across the island. On the way they found a huge pile of the pneumatic tube thingies laying on the ground under a tube that basically dumped them there. The observation pod that Locke and Ecko found was basically useless. Kate sees that two Others are following them on the other side of the creek and Sawyer shoots one, the other one gets away. The whole team gets hit with darts and they all have convulsions and pass out and are bagged by the Others. Michael is given a suddenl much taller Walt (puberty) back AND the boat they took him on and told to go on heading 325 and they will be saved.

Back at the beach-the guy who was in the hatch turns back up in a yacht. It was the one that he was using to win the around the world race but on by his one true love's father. We find out his back story-he was in British army jail and was let out, her father is there to meet him and give him $42K to disappear and Dad has intercepted all his letters to the daughter, turns out the boat was given to him by....Libbie after a chance meeting-her husband had just died and he named it after her this might be why she ended up in a nuthouse. So it also turns out that the CIA guy who Sayid dealt with in Gulf War 1 was the guy in the hatch before that. He ends up dying in a fight with (I can't remember his name now) _____ after D_____ follows him out of the hatch (after two years). The whole quarantine thing is a ruse as the CIA quickly gets rid of the protective clothing. When D____ lets the count go down to zero the hiroglyphics come up and suddenly everything metallic shoots across the hatch.

We find out that this SYSTEM FAILURE was on 9/22/04 at 4:16 (the show debuted that actual date) so basically this magnetic force ripped the plane in two and caused the crash.

Locke and D____ drop the big steel walls by crossing two wires (this was a common practice to delay the countdown) and Ecko (with Charlie now) can't get back in. The count goes to zero and a really loud and really WHITE thing happens (Jack and the team are being held at gunpoint on a dock by the Others when this happens) and then D____ goes under the flooring and keys the failsafe. Charlie gets out and makes lovey eyes with the blonde girl (mother of the baby ...that they never let inside the hatch :eyes: ) but we don't know what happened to Locke and Ecko or D___ for that matter.

The last two minutes had two guys in Antarctica or somewhere playing chess when they get a reading. They call....... D____'s one true love (the daughter of the rich guy)and say "We think we have a reading". D___ had a Dickens novel that probably has some sort of tracking device on it.

something else (implosion or something?) would've happened.

27. Would like to add...
I think Pen, Desmond's GF, is the daughter of the owner of the Dharma Institute. I think her father has much to do with this, and that's why Pen KNEW to look for that particular electromagnetic field anomaly, and was able to hire guys to be set up in the POLAR south (electromagnetic fields and all), to be able to look for Desmond. I think Pen is looking for Desmond, not only because she loves him, but to also thwart her father.

I think Henry called himself one of the "good guys" because he is part of a group that is trying to stop Dharma (Pen's dad's project) from destroying the world, or at the very least, trying to keep it under control. I think the electromagnetic field that the Dharma project on the island generates is capable of major earth destruction, and that Pen's dad is using it to control the globe economically....seems he is a VERY rich man. I think there is a bigger picture of economic global control going on.

Just my two cents worth... :D

is Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens. The story centers n a colossal trick in which people aren't who they seem to be, and in which evil people turn out to be good.

By the way the guy in the hatch with Desmond (ends up getting killed) was the CIA guy in Iraq who had Sayid torture his former Army boss.
