4. In the US, one has to show their ID and is limited to how much one
can buy at the time. This is to cut down on Meth production.

7. I think some stores limit the quantities here too
I'm not sure about ID though. I've never needed to show any whilst buying cold medicine.

33. go to Target, you just have to be over 18. No signatures
Yesterday I was behind a 12 year old boy at Target who wanted to buy pseudofed. And only that. The cashier wouldn't sell it to him.

Seriously - wth would a 12 yr old boy buy this? He claimed it was okay with his mother that he bought this. He didn't even claim he was buying it for his sick mother, he admitted it was for himself. And he sounded totally fine (not like he had a cold).

3. Tried somethin' like Claritin?
Or the generic Loratadine?

I dunno if they'll work on the headache, but they'll help the other sinus symptoms.

Or, try this: Feel along your eyebrows with your index fingers, working out from the bridge of your nose. About an inch out on either side, you should feel a couple of indentations. These are pressure points. If you press on them with your thumbs and hold it for about 10 seconds, then release slowly, it might relieve the pressure.

I need to have it drain.

18. Claritin-D is pseudophedren (it's Claritin w/sudafed)
Maybe they'd let you buy that?

Nobody has ever checked my ID or made me sign a book (and I just purchased some yesterday. It was in Orlando, but I thought the anti-meth thing was Federal).

25. I believe the meth thing is federal
perhaps it is difficult to unmarry the loratadine from the pseudoephedrine, thus being able to buy it without trouble.

32. Tylenol Sinus tabs work great.
I have sinus problems all the time.

The problem is, I can't find Tylenol Sinus anymore.
I've been to Rite Aid, Sav On and K-Mart, no Tylenol
Sinus.

One of the girls at Sav On said they (makers of Tylenol Sinus)
were discontinuing it!! What the hell??

Why oh why would they discontinue making one of the best
sinus( pressure/congestion) medications on the market?

Are they nuts?

The hip's shot. And the knee, which already has a plastic kneecap. Thought I'd get three or four more years out of them, but it looks like that's not going to happen. Good thing they're both on the same side.

Can it? Four days now, I haven't been able to walk. I'm getting sick and tired of this.

24. I would think they would go overboard in pain management
for doing both at once. Expect about 6-8 weeks on crutches, with the first week or two being mostly spent in a wheelchair.

The cool thing is you get gadgets. I still have my grabber thing (a boon for reaching behind the washer and dryer for stuff that has fallen behind there), my two foot long shoe horn, and my sock putter onner thing. Of course I know that I will be having my hip replaced again eventually, so it is good to have all that stuff and not have to pay for it all again.

27. Kids sniff glue yet we don't have to fill 50 bureaucratic forms for it...
I wonder why cold medicine is such a hot-button issue and glue isn't...

Probably corporate bribery. Anything can be used for a cheap high.

And few people stop idiot parents who let their 10 year old kids sniff the fumes when filling up at the station...

28. Indeed
And that "Sudafed PE" is crap. You might as well be eating Skittles for all the good that does. :eyes:

I wonder why they don't make people register to get ether, tolulene, trichloroethane and other obscure chemicals used in meth production that people are not as likely to use on a legitimate basis? Why is it only pseudoephedrine?

But who am I to expect rationality from our government?

30. It's the old "let's look as if we're doing something" approach
And yes, when I was volunteering down in Mississippi, I worked three days in the medical tent, handing out non-prescription meds and medical supplies. We were dependent largely on donated products, and we had crates and crates of various "PE" versions of decongestants.

The doctors told us not to bother giving them out because they don't work. Instead, they told us to hoard the few remaining cartons of REAL Sudafed for the patients who really needed it.

As I noted above, I'm a sinus headache sufferer, and it frosts me to have to practically go through a background check to get Tylenol Sinus.

it cost me a lot less when it was a prescription drug, and I wouldn't feel like I was smuggling contraband every time I bought it.
