13. I think that summer that all them were dead on the shore was
when I was seven. I hear they actually are harmless. Hell if I ever get any money I am getting a place on the Eastern Shore. It's my idea of heaven on earth.

14. In fourth grade, our class(es) took an overnight trip to some camp there.
On the second night, a gigantic storm ripped through the place so we had to tear all the tents down and move into the rest shelter. One of my good friends got hurt by a falling tree branch and my mom had to go with him on the helicopter to the hospital in Dover, so she left me alone there with the girl I had a huge crush on. When you're nine years old, that is pretty freaking sweet and hugely frightening...'specially in the middle of a storm with shit falling all over the place.

Ahh...I miss Maryland now.

15. Maryland's a beautiful state
Sounds like a pretty amazing experience to go through in fourth grade. I remember what we did on our forth grade overnight trip, we went to Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown. That was fun too in a way I kind of miss grade school for its simpleness and knowing everyone. After elementary school you don't really truly know anyone anymore. People change from the way they dress, their attiudes, who they hang with, etc. I wish I could remember my first day of seventh grade now but I can't,

17. My elementary school kicked some serious ass.
It was one of those liberal Quaker private schools where they tought classes in mixed grades (1/2, 3/4, 5/6).

We'd go on two overnight camping trips a year, all of which were fucking AMAZING. I had some of the greatest teachers ever.

Amazingly, my best friend from elementary school (we've known each other since age six months) are still in touch and good friends. I've really lucked out in that deparment.

18. I still keep in touch with my best friend from back in those days
He moved in fourth grade but I talk to him when I can. My elementary school was typical, self righteous gym teachers who played nothing about disco and annoying songs but it was fun I guess because for the last two years of elementary school I played nothing but basketball during recess. Hell I Think I even picked a fight with the "center" kids one time.

19. Sounds like my other elementary school in NM.
It was a shock moving there when I was ten. In Maryland, we'd trash Bob Dole over lunch and then in Freeperville the only political talk was Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinski jokes. (Yes, I've always been a politics nerd.)

In Maryland, I knew all my teachers by first names. It sucked having to remember Mr. and Mrs. everything. x(

20. I was politically interested at an early age but it really wasnt in
my discusisons. I remember being pulled out of class I think it was for speech therapy and I was really bummed out because I wsa going to miss my friend's fake marriage to Pam Anderson. I remember though we voted on whether we would impeach Clinton or not in 6th grade, I voted against because I didnt think it was right to do so.

21. I was totally tuned in to the '92 election.
My mom tried to explain the electoral college, but I only sort of got it. I knew I wanted Clinton to win, though.

I vaguely remember it because I was 5 but my dad does because of the music. I think I may have went to the second one too because I remember seeing this lady with a mustache.

25. For several years, Canadian geese tried to attack me
It all stemmed from an incident in which my running partner and I threw snowballs at a flock that included youngsters. They chased us that time in response. They chased us every other time too so that after a few times we made it a point of taking an alternate route. It seemed though that other Canadian geese had learned about me. For a few years, I was chased by Canadian geese wherever I went even if they had been peaceable around other people until I arrived. It was awful.
It seems when I moved to Wisconsin though, the geese there didn't know about me and left me alone.

29. Very mean
I didn't realize that though until they held a grudge.
So many people are afraid of creates like snakes and tartantulas, but Canadian geese are scarier. A snake who is 50 yards away usually won't come speeding after you, hissing and trying to bite you.
