Man stays in college for 13 years?
lol...in retrospect, maybe i would have stayed as well, knowing what i know now

http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=422873

Johnny Lechner, 29, has been an undergraduate at UW-Whitewater for 12 years. Five days before graduation, Lechner withdrew his application and plans to stay at UW-Whitewater one more year. Lechner answered questions about his decision and his time spent at Whitewater.

Q: Tim Laux of Neenah - What would you tell your possible future children that you contributed to society in your first thirty years of life?("partying" does not count"}.

A: Johnny Lechner - Without knowing me, people have this crazy image in their head that I am out partying every night. I may be doing it a few times a week, but I am also active in many areas. As far as talking to my kids and contributing to society, I think I would begin by outlining that I was an A/B student for many years at an accredited University where I became (quite possibly) the most educated underclassman in the world. Secondly, I would outline my involvement on campus such as founding the organization M.A.S.A.V. (Men Against Sexual Assault and Violence), serving as the Special Events Coordinator for the College, and starting a scholarship program for non-traditional aged college students. I could also mention my various volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, Camp Hope (a camp for children that have lost a parent or loved one), the UW-W Praire Restoration Project, UW-W Adopt a Quad, Camp Evergreen (camp for physically and mentally disabled), and Camp Getaway (camp for inner-city Chicago children that are infected with HIV or AIDS).

1. A friend of mine went for 7 for his undergrad (earned 3 separate degrees),
and there was a man at my university who finished 4 separate bachelor's degrees in a ten year time period.

2. Some people have to go part time for years.
Some people have responsibilities and not everyone has mommy and daddy to foot the bill. I know lots of people who took years to finish degrees.

3. I went part time for four years.
I'm 26 and will just be graduating this summer. Hey, I had to work full time to support myself. Everyone's circumstances are different.

6. I understand not wanting to face the real world...
but he could have stayed in college and had a phd by now instead of a single undergraduate degree.
