Firefly on DVD, will I enjoy it?
A co-worker loaned me the whole season on DVD and then loaned me the movie (Serenity) Do you think I'll enjoy the series. I caught bits and pieces when it originally aired, but it was one of those shows I never could remember to watch.

2. I can't predict what you'll like but I enjoyed both
the series and the movie very much.

It's a very smart, entertaining and intelligent story.

3. I predict you'll buy it after you watch it.
If you like sci fi and wicked funny humor. Joss Whedon has the BEST sense of humor and can write dialogue like Stephen King can scare the shit out of you. We have both the series on DVD and the movie. Oh, they were FANTASTIC.

9. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Shindig and Our Mrs. Reynolds are two of my favorites.

But do watch them in order. :hi: You really are better off not having seen them when they originally aired - Fox aired the episodes out of order, which really fucks with the series.

13. I noticed the back of the DVD cases...
Have the original air dates and they're all out of order. WTF was that for?

21. It was aired out of order
due to network interference. If I remember correctly, the DVD set has them in the order they were shot/intended to air.

P.S. - It's a GREAT series. I hope Joss Whedon is able to pick up the story in the future.

25. The suits also moved it around in all the crappy time slots.
By the time I caught up with it, it had been strangled in its crib.

10. You'll love it
I missed the series when it was first on as well. Never really took to it. I got hooked though.

Watch the show. Some people have said you have to watch 2-3 episodes to get hooked but I was hooked partway through the first one.

Best Sci-Fi television series ever, imho.

15. You sure will! If you haven't seen the movie, watch the series first.
because the movie serves as an awesome "final episode" to the whole project.

Firefly isn't for everyone's taste; it's very dark and dense and not everything is explained in mind numbing detail. However, if it catches you, you'll buy the series to watch over and over.

27. I loved it! - Huge Joss Whedon fan
that I am...

I loved both Firefly and Serenity. Cursing in Chinese! What's better than a bunch of gun-totin' space cowboys? :D

I did not enjoy it quite as well as I grew to like Buffy and Angel, but I think that's only because it wasn't on long enough. Interestingly, Mal played Buffy's last villian, The Preacher, a dead on send up of a fundamentalist old-time preacher.
