Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme to helm a new show
Bradley Whitford will be in it as well. It has LOTS of potential.

Matthew Perry Hits NBC's "Sunset Strip"

It's nice to have Friends in the business.

NBC confirmed Thursday that Matthew Perry will be returning to primetime television this fall, picking up the hour-long drama Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip for its 2006-07 schedule.

The series, created by The West Wing alums Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme, will focus on the backstage antics of the talent and production team who work on a late-night sketch comedy show, à la Saturday Night Live.

1. It'll be so freaking weird to see Bradley Whitford not playing Josh
I suppose that goes for all the West Wing actors and their respective characters. I hope the new show is good because I'll need something new to watch.

2. Yep.
I'm really excited about it. Anything with Sorkin and Schlamme is good. Add Whitford, and...yeah. It's gonna be fun. :)

3. as weird as it is to think of these actors playing other characters ...
... it IS nice to know that they will have jobs! Most of them are young, so they could yet find a role that's even more memorable.

People will probably think of John Spencer as "Leo" from now on ... and Martin Sheen (unless he does something even more popular) as "President Bartlet".

Which isn't a bad thing!

4. Oh, thank the SWEET LORD. Aaron, it's AWESOME you're back!
That's so weird though, I've heard nothing about this and was just thinking the other day--could Matt Perry please get some more work? He and Sorkin should hook up again, that worked out, great for obvious reasons. Also? No more Brad on t.v.? Just when I'd started having the good kind of Brad dreams again...and here they all are! Will I actually have something to watch on television again, truly? Yay!
