Anybody ever received the "you might be a TRUE AMERICAN if..." e-mail?

I just got this from a "friend", and I'm trying to figure out if I should respond in some way. Anything below this paragraph was NOT written by me. If you yell at me for saying any of the things below, you're not reading closely enough. :)

I thought this was a really good email and thought it should be passed around. How many TRUE AMERICANS are really out there anymore?


It is time to change from REDNECK humor to TRUE AMERICAN Humor! Only I don't see it as Humor, but the correct way to LIVE YOUR LIFE ! If you feel the same, pass this on to your True American friends. Ya'll know who ya' are...

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: It never occurred to you to be offended by the phrase, "One nation, under God."

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You've never protested about seeing the 10 Commandments posted in public places.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You still say "Christmas" instead of "Winter Festival."

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You bow your head when someone prays.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You stand and place your hand over your heart when they play the National Anthem.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You've never burned an American flag.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You know what you believe and you aren't afraid to say so, no matter who is listening.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You respect your elders and expect your kids to do the same.

You might be a TRUE AMERICAN if: You'd give your last dollar to a friend.

1. yeah, I wouldn't bother responding to that,

'cause if I did, it would be along the lines of "You seem stupid.", which is kind of a pointless response to this kind of shit. At least it's relatively harmless, and doesn't include any overt racism or anything. Blind patriotism in circumstances where our nation has been taken over by nazis is not too cool, but at least this is much nicer than most of this kind of crap.

2. I got this one on a forward of a forward of a forward from...

...my stepdad, who is a rabid Freeper. I took one glance at it and deleted it. I've had talks with him about not copying me on any of that stuff because I'm a librul and proud of it and all I ever do is delete those messages. He says I'll come around one day and will keep sending them to me until then. :grr: My delete key and I are best friends.

How come Freepers like that never listen? I have told him politely but firmly that he's not about to change my mind with emails or other diatribes, but he just keeps doing it. My sister and brother are fed up with it too. Our trash folders are full and get dumped on a regular basis!
