"24" fans. Should Jack and Chloe get married?

Jack and Chloe, sitting in a secure tree...

It's always fun to try to guess what will happen next on 24. Who is the mastermind behind the mastermind behind the moron (by which I mean President Logan)? How will Jack prevent the plane he's hijacked from being shot down by the scrambled fighter jets? In what lurid manner will the weasely Miles die, and will it be satisfying enough for viewers (unless he's drawn and quartered, I don't see how)?

The action on 24 is always more fun than logical -- you either sign on for the ride or you don't, and if you do, you don't quibble about the details. That makes it hard to predict anything, but here's what I HOPE happens, either later this season or next:

Jack and Chloe get married.

Could this be love? Of a sort?

Yes. At first blush it may sound like a marriage made just a few feet below Heaven, as they say. And it is true that both of them need to brush up a bit on their social graces. But think of it! Individually they are surly, mean, sometimes violent misanthropes. Together they're Superman! How many times has she bailed him out this season, helping him to do the impossible? Nothing can stop them, with the possible exception of arguing over who does the dishes (and really, isn't that every couple's Kryptonite?).

I'm not saying it will be perfect. With Jack, you would always have that nagging little feeling somewhere in the back of your head that if you argued over money, say, he might shoot you in the thigh. Been known to happen. And if Monday's episode is any indication, Chloe has a tendency to welcome unwanted advances with a blast or two from a stun gun.

Details, details. Besides, they'd be too busy saving the world to fight over folding laundry.

3. Poor Edgar! I was so upset when they killed him off.

24 has killed off way too many people this year. And there may be a few more to go. I heard the actress who plays Audrey has signed up to do a different show for next season.

But if Chloe were to get together with Jack, she'd have to die, because that's the RULE. :)

I wouldn't be surprised if she just says no thanks to Jack this time around. Then the writers would always have the option of bringing her back in some future season to torment Jack just as he is falling for someone else. ahhh! the drama of it all!!

I love the show no matter how crazy it gets. It's addicting. I'll probably only stop watching if they ever get rid of Chloe. She's beginning to steal the show!

but from what I understand, people around Jack Bauer don't have a very long life expctancy. I wouldn't suggest that Chloe marry him. Besides, Jack Bristow from "Alias" is much hotter! :evilgrin:
