It's about 80 today, and that reminded me of what it's gonna be like in here when it's 15 or 20 degrees hotter. :scared:

Please don't try to sway me toward room air-conditioners. I can't afford the spike in my PG&E bill.

1. I like this one.
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing.

He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as
the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

2. My house has three that are the name brand of a national chain.
They all work very well.

Which store? Think orange. I didn't buy them, they came with the house.

3. Please go to an antique store that specializes in antique fixtures.
buy and art deco ceiling fan. Or something gorgious (though likely mass produced cause there was a consumer society & factory out put even during the early electricity years). Buy the best looking fan you can find. Take it to be rewired. Et voila! A ceiling fan you will not have to give up in ten years when the fashions change.

If I had the money - that is what I would do. Did they have ceiling fans back then?

4. We got one at Home Depot and are pleased
They had quite a wide selection.

OSH also has fans. Lowe's has a ton. Costco might even have one or two and you would get a deal there, plus they're Blue.

Lowe's and Home Depot at least would also have them on their websites if you wanted to browse before you drove.

12. We both do!

Plus now she's dancing with my old cat Billie.
I was wondering how Billie is passing her time on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

11. We bought all of ours from Home Depot
12 years ago and they're still going. Well, one of them broke after a few years, but they replaced it without any hassles. They carry a brand called Hampton Bay, which is reasonably priced and good.

13. Y'know,
It was a while ago when I bought my ceiling fans, and one of 'em came with the house, so I don't know where it came from, but I just went to a hardware store. I'd think that Home Depot or Ace or maybe even Target or K-Mart would be good places to start...if you can actually see it assembled...stand under it...I think that helps.

But then, I'm funny that way....
