Do I Have to File My Taxes by Midnight tonight - or tomorrow?
I'm confused. They say we have until April 17, but isn't that technically tonight? I haven't even started. :-)

1. You have until midnight tomorrow.
That's what Turbo Tax told me.

3. Usually postmarked by midnight at the END of the deadline day.
So you still have about 24 hours.

Now, having done it with TurboTax the last several years and e-filing it, when you e-file, it has to be accepted by the IRS, and you have to check back about a full day after your initial e-file. As far as the deadline goes, I don't know if this initial e-filing counts or whether you have to receive the acknowledgement of acceptance by the IRS and complete the e-filing to be in under the deadline. If you have to get your IRS acknowledgement and "complete" the e-filing by the deadline, then your initial act of e-filing would have to be done almost a day ahead of the deadline.

I'm going to guess the initial e-file is the same as the postmark, but I'm not sure.

7. I have been using TurboTax for the past three years.
And as far as I know, as long as you will by the 15th, it is OK because I usually wait until the last minute since I always have to pay.

4. depends on where you live could be aug 28
i'm thinking if la woman is los angeles woman, it's midnight on monday night

if la woman is louisiana woman, and you are in a katrina affected area, you do not have to file until aug 28, extension is automatic, i just saved a panicking friend boocoo stress by referring her to the irs.gov website where they explain abt the hurricane katrina automatic extension, you ain't gotta do a thing, it's automatically extended until aug 28

5. Unless you file in New England...
You likely have to file by midnight tonight. In New England, the Mass post offices are closed due to Patriot's Day, so we have an extra day.

6. midnight today
WASHINGTON - For everyone who has put off doing income taxes until the last minute, time's up. Because the normal April 15 filing deadline fell on a Saturday this year, it was extended to today.

That means last-minute filers have to get their returns in the mail by midnight or request an extension. There are still some exceptions. Some taxpayers will get an extra day due to the Patriots Day holiday in Massachusetts.

There's another break for residents who lived in any one of the counties or parishes severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina. They have until Aug. 28 to file.
