Thousands expected for UK victory parade
No not soldiers returning home from Iraq, but something worth celebrating. England have won the Rugby World Cup! :bounce:

I'm pissed off that this is taking place on a Monday (were it today I would be in London to watch it) but I am interested to know if any UK DUers are going.

On Monday, up to a million people will line the streets of central London as England's Rugby World Cup winners parade the Webb Ellis Trophy.

The tour begins at Marble Arch at 1200 GMT, proceeding down Oxford Street and Regent Street before heading through Piccadilly Circus and on to Trafalgar Square.

Aside from the odd traffic-wary cabbie, almost everyone is up for the parade. Shop and restaurant owners can already hear their cash registers ringing. Bewildered tourists are just happy to be involved, and local office workers are looking forward to a long lunch.

1. I was in England the last week of November
and, of course, Rugby was all over. Congratulations, England!

Let's see -- that makes two world cups in how many years? 35 or so? One in Soccer and one in Rugby? Oh, well, that still beats the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs.

2. Would that be the same world series...
...that only includes teams from 1 country?

At least the Rugger is a proper world event, and on a side note it was quite funny watching the TV this morning and seeing Trafalgar Square packed with fans even at 6AM!

Just a shame it's all on a Monday.

4. It looks great!
I saw the coverage on BBC America. I would have prefered the celebration to be Auckland but congrats to the English on winning this. :)
