Why does IT do this?
Actual conversation I had today with the IT person assigned to my office:

"No one in my office can connect to the Internet/Intranet & we need to get to our work email."

"Yeah, we changed the settings this weekend. Did you get the email?"

"Thanks for the advance notice. As I said, no one in this office can connect to the Internet/Intranet, so no, no one can get to that email."

"Okay, I'll send you another email with the new information."

3. I just LOVE
wasting an ENTIRE DAY, not to mention my lunch hour, trying to get this mess straightened out.

I went home at lunch to use my personal account to get the information we needed & it turned out we only got sent HALF of the information we needed. Then it took the rest of the day to chase the idiot down to get the other half.

is they communicate better with machines than with people.

That's why they took the hyphen out of "e-mail."
