Does anyone think Martin Short is funny?
I've tried and tried, but I just don't see what people like about him.

He's hilarious in that.

11. You know, that was one of my favorite movies growing up.
And then I re-watched it in adulthood... and found it horribly boring. It was a sad, sad day.

I saw it 20 years apart and loved it even more the second time.

26. Three Amigos and SELECTED SCTV material...
...because it's hit or miss. When he did the SCTV bit called "Halfwits" (a game show in which the contestants are...well, halfwits), and he said the line "I believe that my morning glass of milk comes from cats," he proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that he is funny. Sometimes HOO-frikkin-LAY-ree-ous.

Isn't that a light chicken gravy.... I know it's Chevy's line but Martin was hilarious reacting to it...

2. I have no idea.
Are you referring to his Jeremy Glick character or just him in general?

The other day I was trying to think of who would be worse than Adam Corolla on a show. And I couldn't do it, but now I can. I remember seeing a couple minutes of a couple of Glick's shows, but it was just so mind numbingly stupid I couldn't even ignore it as background noise while I worked on the computer. Kind of like Rita Cosby's dead white girl show.

4. Referring to Short in general.
Although the Glick character is nauseating and in really poor taste.

Why is it so funny and acceptable for him to make fun of fat people?

27. The opinion expressed in the post above is WRONG
EEhhh!! X try again

Jiminy Glick is HILARIOUS.

I never took it as him making fun of fat people. Glick is a mental mess and he eats to deal with it.

It is a great satire on Hollywood, the Hollywood press and parasites in general.

16. Sometimes Yes. Sometimes No
He's no genius. Some characters are funny and fun. Others, not so much.

He reminds me, in terms of consistency, of Dana Carvey. Garth, pretty funny. The "Cooking Broccoli" bit, STUPID!

So was that Hollywood agent character in The Big Picture.

And then there was Captain Ron. Funny, not so much.

It's from SCTV when he was on there. Bizarre son of Tex & Edna Boil. :) I think Martin Short is hysterical! Love Ed Grimley, Jackie Rogers Jr., and many of his other characters.
