Tom Cruise in birth control - reminds wife of vow of silence during birth
Cruise in birth control

By JULIE MOULT

TOM Cruise’s pregnant fiancée Katie Holmes will be reminded to keep her vow of silence during birth — by signs plastered around their home.

The couple — following the Scientology tradition of a silent birth — had the posters delivered to their Beverly Hills mansion.

The 6ft placards will be placed so Katie can see them in labour.

One reads: “Be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable.”

I think I figured this out
If she makes a noise he'll turn around and divorce her for not following his religion - and try to keep the baby as Scientology's "Neo"

I unexpectedly had natural childbirth with my second, was not prepared for it...I almost broke my husband's hand....What's with that crap about silence anyway? What if she needs to communicate something really important medically? I literally had to tell my POS Dr that the baby was coming before she poked her head down there and said, Gee, you're 10 cm and fully diliated...NO SHIT LADY.

6. Here is what poor Katie should do
When dear Tommie boy comes close to Katie, in order to impart some sort of "wisdom" or such, Katie should silently, but strongly reach out, latch onto Tom's sac, and squeeze for all she's worth. It would be a great stress relief for her since she won't have the outlet of actualy making any utterances.

The cult’s creator, sci-fi writer {MISTER} L. Ron Hubbard, once said: “Maintain silence in the presence of birth to save both the sanity of the mother and child.”

The doctrine stresses newborns cannot be poked or prodded for medical tests or spoken to for seven days.

29. Not speaking to a newborn for seven days seems cruel.
And - if I had been a Scientologist and followed that doctrine (no poking or prodding for medical tests for seven days), my son might have died. He spent his first week in the NICU, being treated with antibiotics for an infection the doctors were never able to identify. I can't tell you how many times he was poked and prodded (blood tests, spinal tap, IV, bilirubin tests...).

47. I would think that not speaking to a newborn for seven days would
be akin to sensory deprivation. A baby hears it's mother's voice when in the womb. To deprive it for seven days after birth seems like it would be punishment, not to mention what effect it would have on infant/parent bonding.

As a mother of four, I can tell you that I have never read anything from reliable sources that would suggest that this is a good idea.

60. Um, can a Scientologist sue if the baby dies bc of a missed problem?
In the first week of my daughter's life, we made three visits to the hospital--for tests that were able to detect some very early issues that could have potentially become HUGE problems if they weren't dealt with quickly.

What a stupid belief - silence during delivery? What point does that serve?

If Tom loved Katie, he would let her scream all she wants to.

Ridiculous. The man is a major freak. Katie would be wise to leave his sorry ass before the baby comes, they'd both be better off.

38. I remember when this missus had our second child...
...she was having a very hard time attempting a VBAC, and she reached right up, grabbed the nurse by her scrubs' collar and roared "KNOCK! ME! OUT!"

When the nurse protested that she's need the doctor's consent first, and he was not available at this time, this was followed by "IT'S A BIG HOSPITAL! GO FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!"

Another cesarean birth later, the missus was resting, with a morphine drip -- I'd never seen her so "happy."

54. A couple of thoughts about Katie, Tom and Scientology...
Katie may well have made her pact with the "devil", like Kidman before her, for more fame and career success, but I believe that she won't last as long as Kidman did in the charade. Something about her (besides this whole scientololgy sham) makes me believe she is too weak to last in the hoax. Maybe she's so weak she'll be completely brainwashed by this cult, but I think she'll ditch the loony tunes Cruise.

The one thing about Scientology that may hinder her, and perhaps others (in the back of their minds) is the fact that the Scientologists have extensive personal files on these people, filled with devastating confessions gained during their cleansing sessions, or whatever they call it. People are expected to confess and divulge the most personal and humiliating experiences, all dutifully recorded by the person administering the session. It makes for very powerful blackmail.

I have no doubt that whatever dark secrets Cruise and the other celebrity scientologists have is one of the factors that keep them in their "religion"

I can't help but laugh about something though. Remember way back when, before Katie Holmes, there was Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz, lovebirds. Imagine the her reaction to the lunacy and ridiculousness of that "religion" when Cruise and his handlers and Scientologists tried to get her to come on board the "Cruise Wife" train. She obviously ran as far as any sane person would from those fruitloops.

They ALL say that!

Maybe Katy will be like my first wife and actually KEEP that promise.

Fucking nut-case. Running your life according to the whims and scrawlings of some hack sci-fi writer.

70. Hmmm. Ok. None Of My Business Really. They Could Do Whatever They Want
inside of legality. Also not sure I understand why there are so many that are acting as if Tom is forcing this on Katie somehow. It's obviously her choice and desire to do this as well, so their mutual agreement that this is how they want the birth to be is perfectly fine. Not sure when we became so eager to stick our noses in other people's private business as if we have some self-righteous right to judge them or something, but ehh, no harm done really anyway. I just shrug my shoulders with a 'yeah, kinda weird theory, but they're entitled to believe what they want and I'm tolerant of others' views, so god bless them and their child' thought in my head.

God bless em whether they have beliefs or practices I find strage or not.

81. For Sake Of Curiosity, Why Are You (and others) Reacting So
strongly as if Tom is forcing this on her outside of her own will or something? She wants it to be this way. She is choosing to do this. She is not being forced. They mutually feel this is what is right and what works for them. They're entitled to that opinion even if we do think they're whacked out for having it. But throwing the animosity on Tom as if he's forcing this ideal on her beyond her will and her own choosing is just not in any way accurate.

82. I'm just sayin', for me, it was mind boggling pain...maybe it won't
hurt for her, maybe she won't feel the need to scream...it's her business, I agree, if
she feels this is what she wants to do, all the power to her.
BUT...and it's a big but...personally, I didn't hear to may silent" births when I was in the
maternity ward, 4 times. Maybe she'll have an Epidural, that may help, although, for me,
the epidural didn't work (had it for baby 4).

and Tom Cruise has no idea the kind of pain this can be, and it's Katie's first, so neither
does she.

88. Honestly, women have done many stupid things because they
"loved" their men. Yes you are right about her choice but being a first time mom she has NO CLUE what she is in for and he being a man will NEVER know what he is asking her to do.

It's a "men have had enough control for too long and look where it's gotten us kind of thing". In reality you are correct, however as a woman, I feel the need to protect Katie because she is so young and inexperienced, him he's a pimp taking advantage of someone he should love enough not to place a sign on the wall asking for silence. While she will never be able to live up to what he's asking the bottom line is you are right.
