2. I don't get Showtime - hopefully
it will out on DVD soon. We rented the "Robert Hanson" story which I believe had been a TV special. Everyone should rent it if they have any doubts about the mental stability of right-wing nuts.

3. Didn'r see it myself, but I caught the same buzz from others who did...
... to wit: "This is what they were complaining about?!?"

It's projection, yet again. THEY can't portray a foe except as a vile caricature, so they assume that no one else can.

7. I thought it was a pretty lousy telepic
but then again, almost all telepics are. The script was stilted, dumbing issues down to expositionary nuggets, etc. The leads were very solid, though, not a surprise for the mega-talented Judy Davis, moreso with the usually wooden Mr. Streisand.

Still, I agree with your central point, which is that there was precious little for the Right to pull a PMRC on (not a fair analogy, I know, since Tipper only wanted labels, not censorship). I thought Rawhide came off surprisingly sympathetic, and even Nancy was not portrayed as the Lady MacBethian shrew I've always known in my heart she was. The biggest "sin" I saw was the script's assumption that RR's Alzheimer's began in office, which is just common sense if you know anything about the disease.

Compared to "The Day Reagan Was Shot," this thing was a harmless soap.

8. Reason Pubbies want Reagan on the dime
I heard on NPR this morning that the reason Congressman Souder (R-IN) wants Reagan on the dime in place of FDR is because of the movie "The Reagans". Sounds like a good enough reason to me.

10. Religous nuts they are
And St. Ronnie is their mythogical savior-god. The show was what it was: a made for TV commercial venture pure & simple. But when somebody has committed themselves to a screwy belief system such as freepers have, they get a little (make that very) defensive.... The joke is on the freeper censors though. They stirred up plenty of interest in this thing. Now instead of 1 network airing, it will be shown over & over again on cable.... Me thinks that the freeps have stepped on their own dick this time.
