My little tranquility corner
I got some roses today, and decided to light the little Japanese lantern my daughter gave me. I was looking at the table the flowers and lantern are sitting on, along with a picture of me and my sisters, another little candle-lamp, and a plant in the background, and I just felt sort of tranquil looking at it. I decided to share it with you folks. If any of you have a little corner, or some area of a room that makes you feel tranquil, or good, or whatever, please share it with us.

(Not making fun of you; I do have favorite corners as well. Just no pictures of them. Your corner is very nice.)

Safeco Field was open. I LOVE Opening Day!

Mariners are playing the Angels. We're sitting in Section 114, Row 31.

18. Edgar Martinez Drive?
Doesn't have quite the ring of Willie Mays Plaza, does it?

But the color code for those seats is my favorite color, so...

20. Maybe not the same ring, but he is probably THE most
beloved sports figure in Seattle. And did you know that the Designated Hitter Award is now named after Edgar? :loveya:

There really are no bad seats in Safeco Field. One cool thing is you can walk all the way around the main concourse and watch the game from any angle. You ever get up this way, I'll take you out to the old ball game!

I have fairy gardens that I can see from the spare bedroom windows. Very calming and nice, especially at night.

25. Here they come ...
The plants have grown up so the fairies aren't quite so exposed anymore.

Here are the sleeping fairies.

There's a little house in the back that harleydad made. These days, it has a little fairy sitting in each window.

These are the playing fairies. The plaque on the wall says, "step softly, for faeries enchant this garden."

The beginning of the path... (I don't know why this one turned out so big)

Here's what it all looks like from the corner.

27. Thanks.

You can't see it, but there's a little curved bench between the gardens, next to the fence. I can sit there and look into the gazing ball. Or just look out the windows. It's COOL at night because we have a security light that's always on dim (it gets bright when someone walks by) and it looks like the gardens and path are being lit by moonlight.

I'm glad you like them.

31. It's wonderful, really.
And can you believe that 25 parties have looked at our house and hardly anyone has noticed the gardens? Who could resist buying a house with such a magical and relaxing place?

Yeah, I have two in the A/F and two barely scraping by. I don't know which ones I worry about most. At least we'll be able to keep an eye on the scraping by ones when we move.

You're great.

30. This is my little corner of tranquility
Edited on Thu Mar-23-06 02:53 AM by billyskank

The largest picture is of my Guru. The smaller pictures are variously of Paramgurudev (my grand-Guru), my Guru again, Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaja, Radha and Krishna, and Jagganath, Baladeva and Subhadra. The open space is where I make food offerings (I then take the remnants).

Sorry about the flash reflection.
