Pix from my husband's swearing-in ceremony at last!; dial-up warning.
My camera failed (of course) but a very nice freelance photographer offered to snap a few shots. He had already snapped a few of my husband making a small speech.

Right after receiving his certificate

The family--my son has the BlondeBEFORE haircolor, btw!

Husband mentioned how grateful he was that the US gave him the opportunity to have a wonderful family (sob, sniffle, tears, and blubbers). His family was sending him pictures of young women to marry...

Thanks to that wonderful photographer.

1. What a beautiful family!
Congratulations, blondeatlast and Mr. blondeatlast! I'm thrilled for you.

I'm also hoping that someone "pays it forward" to the photographer who took those pictures. Somehow, I think they will.

Julie

2. I had to hold myself back from hugging the guy!
Of all the times for it to give up the ghost, it picked this one.

Now we need to get Heidi naturalized as a Swiss citizen. ;)

And there I am, still dreaming of 'World Citizenship.'

well I guess you don't *have* to, but I love hearing these stories. :)

25. Me, talk abour myself? Heaven forbid...

We both were working at the college library as pages. We started off as friends. It went on that way for months, but one night we went out with a bunch of friends and it was like we both felt the same thing at the same moment; yes, alcohol was involved! We got up to dance and started kissing--our friends started applauding! We're still the best of friends, too.

We're celebrating our 10 year anniversary in April! :bounce:

We had known each other for almost 4 years before we married, both of us finishing school in different towns but keeping in very close touch. I actually asked him, he's several years younger and I was ready to settle down by then.

My son was born 9 1/2 months after the honeymoon; a very happy accident!

29. What a great story!
The time really flies by when you're happy, doesn't it (and adding kids to the mix makes it even faster). I bet it doesn't feel like 10 years for you. I hope the two of you are planning something big and wonderful next month!

He looks very happy. Like Katherine Brengle downthread, I am curious to know the country he emigrated from.

Welcome to a newly-minted USA citizen.

19. Best wishes
to all of you! What a marvelous occasion! Naturalization is a very momentous time in one's life. Both of my sisters are naturalized citizens. One is from India and the other from Japan. (I'm from India, but my dad was an American, so I didn't have to be naturalized.)

Congratulations, and again, best wishes to you, your husband, and son! I'm so happy for you!
