1. That's a mighty fine whiskey!
I just tried it a few weeks ago, and it's the only 'uisge beatha' I've had that's smoother than Jameson!

That reminds me...I'm a bit dry right now (after 3 Guinesses, 2 Jamesons, 2 Irish Coffee's and a car bomb...).

Time for another...after a piss. :)

5. Does it have a dead worm in it?
I've only done tequila in margaritas...

6. No tequilla is sold with a worm
Edited on Sat Mar-18-06 01:48 PM by pokerfan
Some mezcals (and tequilla is a type of Mezcal) conform to that marketing gimick, but not tequillas. First, to qualify as a tequila it must be at least 51% blue agave (the plant). Premium tequillas are 100%. No worms in real tequillas.

That said, there are basically four forms of tequilla:
- Silver – not aged
- Gold - Silver tquilla colored to make it look aged
- Reposado - aged a little
- Añejo - aged for years

The Don Julio Añejo in my post above is my personal favorite sipping tequilla and it has an almost brandy like flavor. I serve it a snifter.

There's certainly nothing wrong with a good margarita! I make them with silver or gold tequilla's as the mix would tend to overpower the delicate flavors of an aged tequilla.

7. You'll be amused to hear this little story:
I'm NOT a big drinker, so last night, we were doing the obligatory corned beef and cabbage dinner and I made my hubby go out and buy a six pack of Guinness, just to keep with the Irish motif.

I drank two and basically ended up falling asleep during the kiddie show we were watching! LOL!

Dang, those things are strong. Either that, or I guess I'm a total lightweight.... :eyes:

:hi:
