8. Agreed. I couldn't believe it.
My father and I used to live for that show.

2. Would she kill it?
Don't be afraid of owls. They're lovely creatures. My brother-in-law, who operates a state-sanctioned aviary at his home across the road from us, is currently nursing a beautiful owl back to health. They truly are beautiful, peaceful animals, OR. :)

3. I've heard they'll swoop down
and cat-nap kitties. :scared:

I think they're fascinating creatures; hell, I think just about all creatures are fascinating. But ya hear stories, y'know?

(I wish bats didn't scare me. I'd really like to get to know those suckers.)

4. Oh, Ginger brought us a bat once when he was a kitten.
They're just little mice with wings, really.

I've never heard of owls cat-napping kitties. Is Lucy just a lil wisp of a thang? (I'd defy any owl to try to cat-nap Ginger when he's got a belly full of roastbeast. Ginger'd be like, "Oh, yeah? You and whose forklift?")

9. She's your average-sized feline, I guess
8.4 pounds at her last trip to the v-e-t, a couple weeks ago.

I guess most owls aren't that big, huh? Whadda I know; I'm a city boy.

I watched a teevee thing about bats years ago. They do look like mice with wings — some species, anyway. Cuter'n all hell. And, from what I understand, very important to the environmental balance 'n' all that.

I just have this thing about winged creatures; always have. Even birds creep me a little when their wings are spread.

10. This owl that my brother-in-law is tending
has a wingspan of nearly two meters, or so I'm told. I've seen this owl only with his (or her) wings retracted. Gorgeous.

(Yeah, I'm not that _fond_ of bats. But I appreciate them. ;) )

11. Can you express that in American wings?
Nah, I know... about six feet, six inches. That's a good-sized boid.

7. I love owls!
I think it would take a very large one like the Great Horned Owl to take Lucy away.
