6 Tornado Warnings in less than 8 hours!
We're fine but others in my county are not. Houses were leveled and in two bordering counties there were reported fatalities.

What a hell of a way to declare that spring is coming!

2. Sending vibes of Safety and Protection your way, xmas74....

We've still got a week left of winter, officially....but I tell you, these crazy weather patterns we've been seeing over the recent years give me much pause.

Out here on the west coast, over this past w/e, we had some freakish weather, too.

It was actually snowing in San Francisco! Last time that happenened in March was back in 1896. :wow:

Good luck with everything. :hi:

7. damn, i remember may of 2003.
It was when I first decided i was going to move down to sw missouri. It was the last time, a tornado hit lawrence kansas(except for yesterday). There were a TON of tornados that year, a ton...my wife is from sw missouri, and she was driving up 71north, to KC, and she was in the middle of most of the extreme weather that month...I graduated from college in may of 2003, i belive the lawrence tornado, hit like, on the 9th or so of that month...

9. I was a dispatcher at the time.
I was called in to work and was travelling on 2 Hwy. Turns out the tornado came faster than we expected and I was barely ahead of it. Wind gusts tore a metal roof off of a shed and threw it in front of my car while I was driving.

The day before I watched the first tornado of that week touchdown in my back field. That was scary yet cool.

11. Yeah.
I saw the one that hit in lawrence, in 2003, it was crazy. I'm from SE Alaska, and the severe weather of the midwest is nuts. I had to learn a lot about it, and take in a lot of perspective on what the wall clouds, and what not look like, and when to be afraid, and what to look out for. My wife and I were going up to Lawrence..in..hmm, early may of 2003, right before i graduated...we took highway 71, instead of highway 59, and thank god. There were tornados all over highway 59, through pittsbugh ks, and elsewhere...I'm in Goodman, MO nowadays, its near neosho...:)

12. Warrensburg is a vacuum.
We suck them in from 50 Hwy and 13 Hwy. That one week in May 2003 we took shelter a total of 38 times.

16. Especially since we had a cellar outside at the time!
A big nasty black snake lived in it. I hated it.

10. The storms are decent size cells and quite a few of them.
There is a squall line which came across about 8 hours later. It did produce minor tornadoes but the other cells were super cells, producing straightline winds in excess of 80+ mph and baseball hail. You are getting our storm from yesterday but some of it has broken up (thank goodness!). Our storm was heading northeast.

Be careful-it's a nasty one.
