What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?
I have this question taped to the wall above my desk at work. I was wondering your answer to the question.

I'm a fundraiser, so my answer is usually something like, ask whoosits for 20 million dollars.

12. In the small sense
I would want to be able to fly or predict the future. Even if no one else believed me, I could still enjoy winning lotteries!

In the larger sense, it would be one of two things: become ruler of the world, or a world famous (and thus appropriately rewarded) writer-director-producer.

want to rule the world.

Why?

I don't. I have enough trouble ruling my own life, much less someone else's, much less 6,000,000,000 + other people's ...

44. Why would I want to rule the world?
Well, yes, there are a lot of negatives associated with such ambitions, but truth be told, I love to be in control. And what's more important, I like being behind the scenes. I don't want to micro-manage, though; I'd be content just to get everyone in the world speaking to each other in more than just diplomatic tones to placate each other's egos--I'd love to see those who want to succeed by being nasty get a taste of their own medicine, and I would love to see some equality worldwide.

The thought of some countries with such overwhelming poverty that our garbage is richer than their daily diets sickens me. And to see some people use their strength as power makes me angry. There are some really mean, fucked up assholes in this world, and it always makes me think about how it would be if the tables were turned, and these mean bastards had to comply instead. Women, especially, have no real say in the world right now, and I want to change that, and give my own gender a lot more power even in the darkest recesses of the world. Instead of stoning a Moslem woman who was raped, instead to punish her rapist. Instead of India or China or whereever killing a newborn baby because it is a female, force the world to acknowledge that child and raise it with the same love and admiration as a male child. Instead of poachers killing all the beautiful animals in the world, make them die in the same fashion that they chose to try and kill the animal. Make people pay for their crimes, instead of allowing criminals to get away with things. Make it consistent, make it worldwide, and make the sentences fair. No "cutting off an arm" because someone stole something. No putting someone in jail for thirty years for carrying a small amount of pot in their luggage. No allowing some people to make "deals" when they are as guilty as the ones they are ratting on.

I want to make sure that some things are done: clean up the environment, take care of the elderly, the handicapped, the weak and everyone who can't defend themselves. Make certain that some things are made available to all citizens, and that the money collected for taxes or other governmental causes aren't going to politicos who are lining their own pockets.

I'd like to see constancy and unity worldwide in rules, laws, and social interaction. But while I want to see everyone globally connected in many ways, I still want the French to be the French, the Italians to be Italian, the Japanese to be the Japanese. People need their cultural heritage in order to keep a certain amount of pride for their own history.

We're heading not to Armageddon, but to the Tower of Babel. We've got people who feel completely inadequate with current technology, and others who are eager to go much, much farther. Pretty soon, it won't be just a financial barrier between certain groups of people, but educational ones, technological ones and pretty much an age gap that will be so defined that it will be blaring. Completely different languages are already the result, but it will definitely get worse. Many people my age can't understand a thing that Gen X and Y say, and I find that some young people are not too familiar with classic literature, or proper grammar either! I'd like to see some ground rules for education worldwide, so that everyone is on the same track. Europeans, for example, know multiple languages, know their educational studies far better, are healthier overall because they don't sit their kids in front of television sets or game systems and let them grow inert and overweight from sedentary activity. I think some sense of priorities need to be given to children so that everyone is on equal footing. If American children like being competitive, and the children in other nations are beating our kids in every possible way, perhaps they will put down their iPods and Gameboys and start competing again.

There are really no limits to what I want to do and yes, many of these things are pretty ambitious, which is why I would want to make sure that everyone obeyed them! I hope this is some help as to why I would want to rule the world!

56. Well, given the "would not fail premise", it would of course succeed.
Sounds like it would succeed by some tyrannical mind control powers....

That is the problem. In real life, everyone is different, and there would always be people opposing the ruler, and starting civil wars and coups ....

Without magical mind control (which would be "evil" in its own way), a ruler could not get everyone to agree to the program ....

No gear. I did it with a close friend and a guide. We did a lot of free-climbing that year. I have never been in better shape.

I'd really have to train for a long time if I ever wanted to do that again.

Sadly, a couple of young kids fell to their deaths on that climb later that year.

We got spooked after that.

which is what I think your question points towards....and why I like it. It's all about perspective and how one chooses to see oneself.

To answer your question: I would do just what I'm doing, living my life in Trust and Love, knowing I am exactly where I need to be, in each moment.

It's an abundant Universe and I am abundant by nature.

51. Investigate the JFK assassination
If I couldn't fail...then I could finally solve it...maybe. This is courtesy of Harrison Livingstone: a man who spent his whole life investigating JFK's death dies, and goes to heaven. He's brought before God and told he can ask Him any one question. Naturally, he asks; "Dear Lord, please tell me--at last!--who killed JFK?" And God looks at him and says, "well, you know, I have a theory about that..."...:-(...
