Poll question: Which battle of movie "titans" or "wizards" do you most enjoy?
Edited on Tue Mar-07-06 10:29 PM by nytemare
You know those battles decided by brains more than braun. Of course, some braun needs to be involved.

:D

Which is your favorite?

1. That Gandalf vs Saruman battle at Orthanc makes the Baby Jesus cry.
They're wizards. They can fight without moving, let alone spinning around the room like they just watched the Matrix. Most of the LOTR movies were great but that part and the green wave effect when the legions of the dead save Gondor make me want to beat Peter Jackson over the head with Treebeard's wooden dick.

6. I kinda prefer the Trinity and Neo save Morpheus scene to the Neo V. Smith
fight where it's apparent that he is The One (not that all the fight scenes in the first movie don't rock.)

12. Yoda vs. Sidious, all the way
Had someone told me a decade ago that these two demigods warred with one another, I would have laughed.

But Lucas actually pulled it off: the sequence wherein Palpatine quite literally hurls the last vestiges of democracy at Yoda--to the tune of William's "Duel of the Fates"--is among the most stirring in the sextet.

That look Yoda gives as he's staring into Palpatine is etched in my mind forever.

Zhang Ziyi and Michelle Yeoh both kick ass. They were good in "Memoirs of a Geisha" as well.

26. Avatar vs. Blackwolf. Wizards
For two reasons.

First, the line Avatar says right before the end of the "fight" and second for the actual method he uses to win.

For those who don't know, Wizards is a 70's animated film by Ralph Bakshi. It is available on DVD for those who want to check it out.
