| weird question about western NC weather.... |
|
any Ashevillers here? I'm looking for land in this general area, and have been about an hour southwest of Asheville for a while - the weather really is pretty mild in the winter. I've been looking around Flat Rock and Hendersonville, though, to relocate, and wonder if anyone knows if the weather is worse in that area, or better... all the mountains around here do funny things to weather patterns.
Offbeat question for the lounge, I know. Thanks for any input.

| 1. worse than what - Asheville? |

My dad lives near Hendersonville. He's leaving soon, one major reason being the place is overrun with neocons, and old-cons. They can't believe how overwhelmingly republican it is, not to mention the religious overtones everywhere. Are you sure weather is everything?
btw - they do love the weather there, but are planning to move to Asheville where the political climate is more to their liking.

we're in the middle of a bunch o' fundies right now and looking to get closer to Asheville, but land in A'ville is a lot more expensive than H'ville and even Flat Rock. Maybe we'll check out Black Mountain (though it is the home to Billy Graham's something-or-other ministry).
It's hard to escape in the south. Our little town doesn't have much going for it - mild winters and low-humidity summers, but it's too far from Asheville and I don't really want to move down into northern Georgia. Sigh.
