Massage. What's it good for?
Everybody wants to get a massage, but all it does is give people a temporary state of bliss and relaxation. It's not like massages are lasting. They ALL END eventually... so why bother?

Why can't we just massage ourselves the way we see fit?

Somebody please tell me I am not alone.

1. If it's a happy ending.....

Then it does a lot of good.

2. Everything ends.
Some things end more happily than others.

Any ending that does not involve mug-shots is fine by me.

3. We certainly should not dictate who or what can be massaged.
It can certainly be a "release".

Until it was pointed out to me that it's a copycat. I felt like quite the ass, haha.

5. I like massages, they help me relax
Sometimes it is the only way to get my muscles loose though.
I gave my husband a gift certificate for a professional massage for Christmas a couple years ago. Despite wanting me to give him massages and me not doing a good enough job, he did not redeem his gift certificate. He said that he would feel weird about getting massaged by another woman.
A married male friend of ours was also given a gift certificate by his temperary construction job employer as part of the pay. He didn't feel comfortable getting a massage either. Are many married men like that? In my case, it was even clearly my idea.

10. I was getting a massage once a week.
It helped me to get most of my body working again.

11. The effects can be longer lasting
and if you find a good, professsional masseusse/seur, it's worth every penny, if you ask me.

13. yeah, i use that reasoning too, when I can't afford the massage
but they really are good for you. Even temporary deep relaxation and the touch of another human does lasting good.

14. Massage is really good for blood circulation -- hence speeding
a healing process. It is also a loving gift to give your body. Anybody who rejects massage probably has issues about being touched (i.e. cannot distinguish massage from sexual touch).
